Hackley Announces Senior Leadership Change
GREENSBORO, NC - North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University Interim Chancellor Lloyd V. Hackley announced today the resignation of David Hoard, vice chancellor for development and university relations, effective August 31. Hoard also served as executive director of the N.C. A&T University Foundation, Inc.
“David has decided to focus on some other creative endeavors at this time,” Hackley said. “We appreciate his contributions over the past seven years and wish him Godspeed.”
Hackley said the appointment of an interim vice chancellor is forthcoming along with a national search for a permanent candidate.
“A&T has afforded me many opportunities so I feel confident that I am leaving things in better shape than what I found them. It’s a blessing to be able to explore other options,” Hoard said.
“Our development office has been a prototype for others around the country to emulate.”
In 2002, under Hoard’s leadership the University kicked off a $100 million capital campaign. To date, a total of $80.8 million has been raised.

I'm telling you, we have to watch this guy(Hackley)!!!! I wouldn't put this on Hackley, Hoard was a Renick guy, I expected him to be one of the first to resign.

He was a Renick guy that was doing a good job. I agree with treese, this guy Hackley has to be watched closely. I truely believe that Erskine Bowles sent him to A&T to broker some type of deal with UNC-G so UNC-G could get some of the land on our farm to build their school of Pharmacology before we bring in a new perminant chancellor. Renick would not go along with this plan when he was here. I truely believe that all A&T Alum need to keep their eyes and ears on this interim administration.

We as Aggies are going to find out, today or Monday, what Hackley is made of in response to this morning's terrible and un-call-for front page headlines about an A&T student-athlete. This was not an article about national security or the state or city impending concerns of high interest. So, why the big bold top half front page headlines about how A&T handles one student who have been convicted and is on probation?
The headline news is an attack on A&T and the paper will hear from me in a letter.

This is the second or third time Harrison has made front page at the N&R. Renick and company didn't do jack about it so if Hackley follows suit he's only following a precedent. I'd be shocked if anybody from the school actually did anything about it other than wait for it to die down.
