Does anyone know what the official count is for this year? Did we hit 11,000 ?

I hear we did -close to 11,500 but they haven't officially put any numbers out - 3500 in the freshman class. That's a lot of freshmen and they were clear around the corner and down the street today getting their Aggie-Eagle tickets at the ticket office.

A1, I also heard that we have surpassed UNCG in enrollment. Have you heard anything about that? I know that a lot of white kids are enrolling at A&T because we have all the technical majors. When I moved my daughter on campus in August I was shocked at the number of white kids enrolling as freshmen and living on campus!

Well UNC-G has over 12,000 fulltime undergrads. So if we have surpassed them, we better start building some more dorm space because 15,000 is easily in sight by 2008.

I agree. Clearly A&T quickly is headed towards 15,000 in enrollment. I recently told someone on my job that A&T is going to be the "Big Dog" in Greensboro soon and it seems to be coming true! Our athletic woes aside, A&T is becoming a force to be reckoned with in the world of academia!

The enrollment for the fall was right at 11,150 students. From what I have heard, enrollment is up at all HBCU's. I believe Renick's goal is to have enrollment at 16,000 when he retires from the university. I think that it is great that students are now choosing to attend HBCU's in record numbers.

I'm also impressed with the diversity of our student body. I received a call from a student soliciting alumni contributions yesterday. Believe it or not this young lady was from London, England. She said she wanted to attend an HBCU, thus choosing A&T. Aggie Pride is worldwide!

We aren't your average HBCU, look around, we're making strides to be a better university not just a better black school

I think this was one of the few times that going outside to get a leader was good. Dr. Renick is really spearheading a lot of positive changes and upgrades.

Has anyone heard anything about UNC-G trying to merge with A&T? Someone told me that last week. Due to our upgrades and technology, they see all of the benefits and perks that we are getting. I have no idea if any of this is true but that's what someone told me last week. Is there ANY truth to this?

No truth to that whatsoever.

It sounds like this untruth is stuck on repeat cycle; seeing how it has countinously resurfaced. I'm pretty sure I remember my parents saying it was amiss when they were there in the 70's.

Then it was because "we didn't have a damn thing" so we were easy pickings. Like AO said not truth that stuff at all

This rumor really took off about 10 or 12 years ago when UNC-G change their school colors from green and gold to blue and gold. Why they felt they had to change their colors to the same as ours is puzzling to me.
