A&T State University will debut a graduate program to train scientific researchers and business people about the computational engineering methods in multiple disciplines. The program is the first "interdisciplinary" efforts to link different academic areas that N. Radhakrishnan, vice chancellor of research and economic development at A&T, announced last month. The computational science and engineering master's program will start next spring to train master's level students about developing mathematical algorithms for scientific study, engineering problems and manufacturing processes. "Our successful launch of this new program is the result of strong collaborative efforts among the colleges of engineering, arts and sciences and the schools of business and economics, technology and agriculture and environmental sciences," Radhakrishnan said. Separately, A&T dedicated its new global positioning satellite tower at the A&T University Farm in eastern Greensboro this week. The tower will collect data from satellites for floodplain mapping of land in western North Carolina.
