I think it's kinda sad that I know just about all the words to the Notre Dame fight song but I only know maybe 2 lines of the A&T alma mater (I know the Dear A&T part and the from Dare to Cherokee part).
So without googling the lyrics, who knows the entire alma mater?

Sad to say, nope, I don't know the whole thing.
Dear A & T, dear A & T, a monument indeed Around thy base with joyful hearts, behold thy students kneel (or something like that) We bless the power that gave thee birth.....
da, da, da, da, da, da, da da, da, da, da, da, da, da da, da, da, da, da, da, da
From Dare to Cherokee. ;D

Nope, but I don't know the Notre Dame fight song or the Star Spangled Banner either for that matter, I just do know the Pledge of Allegiance and that was a daily event for 12 years.
I don’t remember the Alma Mater being woven into the fabric of the Aggie experience when I was at A&T. I especially don't remember it being played after football games as it is now. But I’m glad to see it done.

It's something how those individuals that remember the Alma Mater of the school they attended or attend (be it high school or college) become staunch, diehard alumni. To learn the school song, by hard, is almost like crossing over into a fraternal order. It's a special feeling to recite such beautiful words in unison with your kith and kin. The Alma Mater has four (4) stanzas (verses). I only know the first one. Believe me, that is enough to feel your heart with pride. Every member of BDF might consider learning it. Watch your love for this special institution go to another height.

I don't even think I looked at the words to Alma Mater until it got around graduation time. I remember in high scholl, we constantly sang the Alm Mater, but it was never like that at A&T. I often wondered why we didn't hear it more at the football games.

I know the first verse perfectly...the 2nd verse is a little fuzzy and the 3rd verse is a blur.
We sing the first verse at most University formal events, and after all sporting events when the band is present. So, if you leave before the end of the game you don't get to hear the alma mater played. (Answering aggielove)

I never saw or heard my high school alma mater until graduation as far as A&T goes they gave us the lyrics at freshman orientation and made us sing it there but yeah unless we go Eastside High and spice it up a bit I probably won't remember the words by graduation

no... some school's songs are very pretty... ours is ok but it needs some more rearranging... maybe if the band & gospel chior could do some tweeking to it... like the kids in "lean on me"...
but that corney fight song has got to go.... it's so cheezee.... no bite or fight to it at all....
a fight song should have you wanting to suit-up after it's played.... i mean like after you hear notre dame's fight song you are so pumped... you could jump through the tv screen!!!

I almost cried reading this... www.library.ncat.edu/info/archives/almamater.htmlI commend Susie B. Dudley for giving us this song. It challenges us in many ways. It tells us to be grateful for the opportunity the sidewalks of A&T. It tells to be grateful that she was even built and was there when we needed her ... I repeat when we needed her. It charges us with using our skills when we leave to better the State of North Carolina. And finally it challenges us to not let the engraved buildings be the testament of A&T but that what's engraved in us should be the banner that shows the world what A&T is about. When folk see you, they see A&T. What do we reflect about our school? Are we exhibiting the characteristics that Susie B. Dudley had in mind when she wrote our Alma Mater? Read our Alma Mater word for word and challenge yourself.
