Having graduated in 75 I'm just wondering if some of the things I remember most about my days at A&T are still the same.
1. Do guys still buy a quart of beer and walk over to Bennett for fun night?
2. Can you still buy a baloney and cheese whopper?
3. Is Harrison auditorium still a great place to see a cheap movie?
4. Do block boys still play football in the bowl?

#4 started to tail off during 2000 while I was still there.
What in the world is a baloney and cheese whopper??
We didn't buy a quart of beer and go to Bennett - we bought a nice sized bottle of bacardi and brought them back with us!!

I didn't know that they still made quarts of beer, I thought there were only 40's and Double Deuces(22 ounce). I remember "fun night" at Bennett although I don't think they have enough girls over there for fun night now. *Note* I would kill for a baloney and cheese whopper!!!

My parents used to talk about the baloney and cheese whoppers! This older gentlemen (forgot his name) used to make them in what used to be the Aggie Den, or whatever it's called now. I need to call my dad to get the specifics.
Just called my dad, his name was Boss Webster, he had his own store. He used to wear a dirty apron but the whoppers were good LOL
They are remodeling Harrison right now, so it's closed.

The first time I saw "School Daze" and "The Shining" was in Harrison my first semester in school. The next semester I got to bring my truck with me so it was to hell with movie night. I drove to the movies. I don't know if they still have it. They should once it reopens.
They also showed an NCAA game when Wake mopped the court with us via Tim Duncan in Harrison. It was packed for that. Nobody went to class.
Bennett just wasn't the place to be when I was in school. This is cold, but we used to call it "ugly Spelman." A lot of them came over to T to hang out.
The baloney and cheese whopper sounds so familiar. Maybe my pop used to talk about it or something.
We used to maim people in that damn bowl. They'd never throw me the ball (too short) so I'd nail people low on defense to get my revenge.
Sometimes the 'maicans would come over and play soccer in the bowl. Great entertainment.
If anybody cares, we drove past Bennett a month ago and Gus was closed down. Now the building is part of Bennett I think. Gus' Grocery was where we'd go to buy liquor underaged and overpriced. It sat directly across the street from Bennett.

1. No, but those Bennett girls are still the WALKINGEST girls you've ever met. Bennett girls will walk ANYWHERE, they arent wearing the hats and gloves anymore, but you can still spot them from a mile away beating their feet. (I still got love for the Belles though)
2. No, but when I left (2k4) you could go to Church's or Ms. Winners and grab a family sized serving of grease-filled chicken for 1.99.
3. We had some movies in memorial when i was there, but never anything hype. But I've seen some of the most talented gospel singers get booed off stage in Harrison, tough crowds to say the least.
4. The intramural football games are still there, and still hype as ever. The new caf really revitalized the bowl!

Man, Those "fun nights" at Bennett were great. They had really good looking girls at Bennett back then, I don't know about now. The one thing I remember about those "fun nights", was seeing the football players trying to get back on the "yard" before curfew and trying to beat the train before it came by.

Bigboy, you haven't lived until you had to sneak out of a 2nd floor window at Bennett at 2:00am and you still get caught by that train!

You're right Scotthallb about those Bennett girls being walkers and they always traveled in packs with at least one blocker.
