If you are just trying to gain additional job skills your best bet might be to volunteer somewhere. There are a lot of people in Guilford County who need free labor but they don't neccessarily have the budget to pay an extra employee.
Sometimes you have to start small before you can reap the benefits. For instance, I recently got a job in media relations for a professional sports organization. To build the skills it requied to land that job I volunteered at Bennett College's athletic department and worked as a freelance writer for the Carolina Peacemaker, earning peanuts for each story that got published.
However, having that real-life experience on my resume allowed me to get a better gig down the road.

Virginia Tech has a Masters and I beleive maybe a PHD. program in Marketing Education. I have a friend who taught Tiki and Rondae Barber at Cave Spring High School in Roanoke , VA while commuting to Blacksburg, VA at night. She wasn't a rocket scientist either!
She know teaches on the University level. Due to the limited minorites in the field, she received a lot of money to complete both programs.
Teach and get that scholarship money while you are young!!!
