I don't think so. We've not pushed the idea of playing NC State or Carolina because we're not ready. Getting killed by them in football would destroy in-state recruiting. We played Wake Forest in 2004. It wasn't pretty. I think we're OK for now. Somehow I remember that one of the Big Four even asked to play us recently and we politely declined.

Our in-state recruiting sucks because fotts and co. wanna get kids from Miss. and La., not cuz we'd get whupped by UNC-CH and NC State.

I've always been a believer that it would NOT hurt regardless if we get destroyed or not. Kids dont pay that any attention, because we are suppose to lose to them. now losing to NCCU or Winston is waaay more detrimental.

This issue is between two Championship Subdivision (CS) (formerly I-AA) schools, not a Bowl Championship (BC) (formerly I-A) school and a CS school. So, no, there isn't a similar issue for NCA&T. Plus this appears to be an out-right refusal by UD to play DSU for “unspoken reasons”. I think any CS school in the state of NC would probably play us especially if we were willing to come to them as DSU is willing to do. Our problem would be scheduling a return trip for some of those same unspoken reasons.
