N.C. A&T senior Jamie Brungard finished the MEAC Roundup bowling tournament with a two-day average of 204.2 -- the best at the weekend event at High Point Bowling Center -- to lead the Aggies to a second-place finish behind Bethune-Cookman.
Brungard bowled a 244 for the high game among all bowlers on Saturday, and the Aggies finished 9-3: 5-1 in Baker matches, 4-2 in team play.
In Baker games on Saturday, N.C. A&T won all four of its games against its MEAC northern foes. The Aggies topped Coppin State (582-424), Morgan State (736-636), Delaware State (538-482) and Hampton in a best three-out-of-five game format.
The Aggies (18-10 MEAC, 23-10 overall) could move into the National Tenpin Coaches Association Poll based on the weekend showing.
"My team had an intense desire to win," A&T coach Courtney Stith said. "They played with confidence and executed very well."
