Aggies won't get any help from duoBy Rob Daniels Staff Writer GREENSBORO — The N.C. A&T men's basketball team will not, in fact, have top scorers Sean Booker and Demetrius Guions back this season, an athletics administrator said Wednesday. Associate athletics director Wheeler Brown said Booker and Guions will not be academically certified to compete in the second semester. Brown declined to say whether the players failed to meet the eligibility standards of the NCAA, the university or both. The rulings probably end the careers of both players at A&T, but Brown also declined to speculate on their future. You either study or you don't. they made their bed so they'll have to sleep in it. So be it. We're pretty decent with what we have right now so Eaves will need to just need to turn it up a notch or two with our new kids who get it.

What an epic failure - on the part of the players involved, Eaves' coaching staff and the A&t athletic administrators.
All three are guilty of not getting their jobs done.

Yeah youre right.. the adults failed here.. GET REAL.. what did you want them to do.. walk them to class? OHHH yeah they did that.. What else could they do.. ? make sure they had tutors??? Oh yeah they did that too.. What the hell else could anybody have done.. These kids have got to want to be here and participate. ITs on THEM to maintain their academic eligibility... there are resources in place for them to be successful if they choose to do so. So get off that crap about anybody failing except the two individuals involved...

I suspect this situation may be a snap shot of our student body.

Both of our top scorers are out? How many times do you see that happening at a NCAA school. We must be snake bitten, I swear.
Fortunately, the team has been playing well without them. The news is still very disappointing because so many of us were looking forward to watching this team play at full strength. It will never be realized.
Well Mr. Eaves, work with what you have my man. Good luck.

It's all about kids being in school for all the wrong reasons and not taking care of their business. We have the same problem in football as well or lat east before the season started back in September.
It's just as important to recruit character as well as great athletic ability with student athletes these days. If you still don't believe me then go ask Ga. Tech's coach what he thinks about Reggie Ball's commitment now who was his fifth year starting senior QB and team leader but who said "screw class in this last semester, I'm going to a bowl game then on to the NFL."
I don't think so.
I'm afraid thrilla you're out there by your lonesome on this one.

What about the other two? Gregg: pending, I suspect a credit issue, not grades, Wilson: in uniform, ready to slam!! Bad as I would like to blame the school for this, but this is that "second chance" you guys always talk about giving people. N-R article has the ASU Holiday Classic Fri/Sat our schedule has it today/tomorrow, which is it?
