Halftime
A&T 37 New Mexico 34
Team is playing well, forcing turnovers. Shooting 48% from the field, 38% from 3-pt range, 6-8 from FT. We're getting killed on the boards, but playing well in other areas.

sportsillustrated.cnn.com/basketball/ncaa/men/recaps/2006/12/16/39609_recap.htmlALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Chad Toppert had career highs with 20 points and six 3-pointers Saturday and New Mexico, with its leading scorer on the bench in the first half, beat North Carolina A&T 86-78. New Mexico (6-2) never could shake the pesky Aggies (3-6). The difference was the outside shooting of Toppert and the drives to the basket for points by Tony Danridge , who added career highs of 17 points and 6 rebounds. Steven Rush led North Carolina A&T with 28 points. Rush had 6 of the Aggies' 9 3-pointers and hit 9 of 17 shots overall.

The Pitt is a difficult, if not nearly impossible, place to win for visiting teams. Despite the loss, I think this is another sign of this team's movement in the right direction.

Eaves' comments after the game: (Check out the last sentence of his quote)
North Carolina A&T Head Coach Jerry Eaves "I think it was an excellent game. They did a good job in the second half to pick up the intensity. We turned it over a little bit against their 1-3-1 half court trap, which was disappointing to me because we know what to do with that. We're an excellent passing and perimeter shooting team. That should have been to our advantage and it wasn't."
On J.R. Giddens entering the second half: "It affected us a little bit. I mean, he's a good player but truly it wasn't really a factor. He's a good player but he's not the team. I still believe that if we played them at a neutral court we could beat them."
