You guys need to understand how the media works. There would probably be new follow-up stories today about the donation - from sites like HBCU gameday - if the school had not decided to suddenly freeze the announcement. As a journalist I can’t really publish anything else about the donation until the school makes it official (again). Reporters can’t even reference the details until the school republishes it. No media outlet wants to use another media outlet as the only source of its information. I appreciate the insight on how the media works…and how follow up stories can’t be run…but to be honest, maybe some of you in the media don’t understand that the desire for the follow up and deep coverage just ain’t there. I got all I need to know from the initial media reports. There is no intense public demand for more on this story…at least not from what I can tell from other Aggies. Everybody has their interests, but Aggies are not on the edge of their seats on this…we trust the development office, and if they say we got a $20 million gift we believe them…there’s no reason not to believe them. If there’s something going on that the rest of us don’t know about tell us…if not, let it play out. They said they would put it back on the website…I’m good with that.

It's been on 3 TV stations and several reports since the initial announcement and no one has questioned it but u

Once again, my only question is why the announcement disappeared.
No one would have even thought twice about the donation if the announcement had not been suddenly removed.
Westcoastaggie would not have had to email the school admin today for clarification if the announcement had not been suddenly removed.
When you make a major announcement and then suddenly removed that announcement, it tends to raise eyebrows.

Coming from u it makes it look as if A&T is doing something questionable.
There is still a thing called responsible journalism

My point exactly!! I guess they were trying to say it would be better to have a hotel close to campus for Homecoming and events and that would be more profitable than the endowment. Comments like that are why I'm glad the admissions requirements are going up If we took a poll of 10 Aggies about what to do with the 20M I expect we would get at least 8 DIFFERENT opinions. I even hoped it was designated for athletics facilities!

And that MacZenzie Scott announcement didn't suddenly get deleted 24 hours later. It is not normal to announce a major donation and then delete every mention of that donation from all your platforms. When you do stuff like that, people start to get concerned and some might even send emails to school administrators to find out what it actually going on. I think they should have just done a separate announcement from Dr. H. Martin. Expect they had several opinions on what to do and decided the pull and update would be better...which then caused consternation by those that closely follow or recognize the pull.

FWIW, the news outlets that reported on this have yet to dig up any nefarious details. We. Are. Not. FAMU. "They" think we are all the same. Dammit FAMU. Yep. All SCAM'd U's (FAMU's) fault.

"some" alums (not including osa) should be on edge cuz they spent the last several months relentlessly "trashing" famu publicly over their donation debacle. otherwise, i don't think this incident would be getting any aggie attention, at least not 3 pages worth... I'm STILL trashin' them in the trash talk groups!

Coming from u it makes it look as if A&T is doing something questionable. There is still a thing called responsible journalism A&T did do something questionable. They made a major announcement about a donation and then deleted that announcement 24 hours later. It was so questionable that westcoastaggie felt compelled to email a school admin and ... wait for it ... ask a QUESTION about what happened.

It was so questionable that westcoastaggie felt compelled to email a school admin and ... wait for it ... ask a QUESTION about what happened. It only became questionable because you posted on Twitter about it and it was picked up by the HBCU community. Not one media outlet questioned the donation before u did. I look forward to watching u celebrate the donation and congratulating the new administration Again responsible journalism

4 pages of comments and 5 posts that are actually congratulating the fact the we received $20 million dollars. If I were the anonymous donor, I'd want my money back from you ungrateful negroes...
