Chancellor Elect Martin II will have to work on maintaining undergrad numbers and really push those masters and PHD numbers for the future.

Would like to see him take a chunk out of UNCG by targeting some of their prospective students.

What would really help is if we had a degree program for middle school education. A&T only offers early childhood and high school. Students that want to teach middle school have to attend UNCG as they have the curriculum for it.

I would think that education majors are down all over the country. It may be time to recruit more non-traditional students. We may need to add satellite campuses.

Also a number of students that land in education but did not study it.

State of NC has destroyed several programs to recruit students into the teaching profession. They are supposed to bringing some things back .IF they can get the budget passed

What would really help is if we had a degree program for middle school education. A&T only offers early childhood and high school. Students that want to teach middle school have to attend UNCG as they have the curriculum for it. And their enrollment is going down because fewer people are entering the teaching field. I'm not knocking the teaching field, but those numbers are declining.

Imo that could be countered by smaller classroom sizes and TAs in each class.
Be nice if T could absorb UNCG completely and bolster the education department altogether to allow us to flood the nation with educators. I assume absorbing UNCG would also bolster our R1 status.
Ah, dare to dream...
