The Villanova game on November 9th in Philadelphia will let us know how we stack up on a national level. Delaware, Richmond and Bill & Mary will do it 1st. They make the playoffs but they are not too competitive with the ND State's and SD State's

At this point nobody is competitive with them...top 2 in the country. I would say Top 25 is "National Level".

South Dakota State 23 Villanova 12 final

I think I'm gonna stick with Top 25 as "National Level". Very subjective issue.

The football players may need a history lesson on some of the individuals that may not make alot of noise but contributed to the construction of the stadium. Those individuals may not be able to medically make noise, but the athletic department and the football team could start with the 13,560 or however many are on campus.

Only issue I think I have is his projection of Mack David possibly starting at an inside LB. Mack played outside and Malich Jacobs is back. He was an inside starter last season along with Moledor when Turner went down. Iseah also played some inside. I expect Jacobs and Moledor inside, Iseah outside on one side. Not sure who'll be on the other side (replacing Cole) but 2039 believes it'll be Terien George (the kid that was down for quite a while in the Spring Game).

I think the defense will take some tremendous steps forward, especially in our passing defense. Our biggest concern will be our run defense. It’s going to take about 4-6 games until they get into their groove, I believe.

I'm not concerned on the defensive side at all. That side was coached up very well and played OK with the personnel that was available. Offense is where we need the most growth with coaching and talent minus the RB room.

I tend to agree, my hesitation though is; if our run defense doesn’t start fast then, we will not get to see how good the secondary is or will be. Teams will run it down our throats until we can show them we can stop the run. I hope we will have made serious strides to get better against the run.

The secondary is a significant part of your run defense or stopping the Run. A lot of tackles that were missed last season were missed by secondary players that rolled up in run support. So when you say run defense you're talking about the entire defensive unit. There's a reason a lot of safeties lead their teams in point of contact tackles especially when they have a weak defensive line. Also a lot of tackles are made by the better secondaries at the line of scrimmage or just at the second level if you have good physical defensive backs. That's why I added the question if they can tackle. Having played the position I can tell you a lot of tackles made by the secondary or second level and line of scrimmage tackles. When you stack the box if you're not just talking about linebackers just something to think about.

Hopefully our defensive front will be better and the secondary won't have to make as many tackles....which should result in fewer misses. If the front is better, they should make a few more tackles and the LBs should make a few more tackles.
