Styles make fights, and right now Troy has the worst possible style for our Lady Aggies team to face in this tournament. They can score points in abundance and we struggle on the offensive end. Hard to imagine us winning a shootout against them. They were like the old school Dallas Mavericks. Had shooters everywhere.

With all the great shooting they did, and bad shooting we did, we were only down 5 with 6:30 left in the game.
Great BONUS basketball from our young ladies...with 3 home games to boot!
Congratulations Ladies!

Yes we all know we need shooters. Troy had shooters galore. They shot with ease and at one point were toying with us. We have not had consistent shooters since Coach Bibbs was here.
Although Troy was hitting big outside shots at will we were still in the game. If we had anyone who could possibly hit a few shots the game would have been closer.
I hope and pray that Coach Robinson go find some shooters that can shoot as well as Troy's team. Every year he breaks his neck getting Biggs who can't make a layup or put back.
Coach you will never win the Big One unless you get some real deal fire power

I'd prefer he hire a new assistant coach this offseason who is a real deal shooting guru. A lot of our missed shot are the result of some terrible shooting form and mechanics.
I believe we can dramatically improve the shooting ability of our entire roster with simply an upgrade in our development process.

We ran into a buzz saw tonight ,but I'm extremely proud of our Lady Aggies on their season Aggie Pride Troy was not a buzz saw, we lost a very winnable game due to lack of outside shooting.

Don't get me wrong, Coach Robinson is a decent coach but his DNA is he never recruit quick and fast guards who can really shoot and handle the ball. Hiring a bona fide shooting coach may help but we need ladies that already have that form and abilities to shoot coming out of high school.

Hopefully our performance this season will help with recruiting. Elite players want to go to elite programs. Showing an upward trajectory to recruits could help steer some talent our way.

I dont think you can just recruit random players who shoot like Troy did last night; you have to develop them.
The way every single one of their girls came off screens with perfect balance and the way they all extended their follow-through on jumpshots, showed me that they were extremely well-coached. Their body control was not just a coincidence. This is stuff the have obviously practiced.
In comparison, how many times did we catch the ball flatfooted and then were forced to throw up a wild, unbalanced shot right before the play clock expired?

And anybody in the portal currently that can shoot the 3 at a very high rate and is completely developed in that regard is going Power 6 or mid major (C-USA, American, Sun Belt), especially with NIL money being a factor. Those types are not picking low majors 9/10. It’s a different day. If you’re a low major of the 350 D1 basketball teams, you have to invest in developing what you get to the absolute fullest. Bet recruiting pitch is development & grad transfers/upperclassmen that want to play close to home honestly. Chaniya was someone that had to be developed, & could benefit from legit shooter training

Troy also looked better conditioned for the rigors of post-season tournament play. In the fourth quarter, it seemed we barely had any lift in our legs while Troy was darn near jumping out of the gym on those rebounds.
I just looked at their schedule, and Troy has played in post-season tournaments since 2015, including 3 NCAA tournament berths. So overall, it was a great learning experience for A&T and taught us plenty about the rigors of how to be successful in Post-season play. Time will tell if we'll properly apply those lessons. We can potentially become a mid-major power in the sport under Coach Rob. We also see what happens when the admin invests additional resources into coaching (RE: Baseball).

When Tucker - our best rebounder - went out with the leg injury, that was a huge loss.

JUCO and D1 transfers. Its not many High schoolers that are playing at that level
