Surprised we put in a bid, especially when you consider in 2012 we outnumbered WF and UNCC by at least a 2-1 margin in their arenas. Anyways this shows a strong commitment to winning. Kudos to Hilton!

Kudos to Hilton! If our fan support was strong, why are you surprised we put in a bid? We should be using our home court advantage whenever possible. |

Kudos to Hilton! If our fan support was strong, why are you surprised we put in a bid? We should be using our home court advantage whenever possible. Because of Hiltons statement in the past that we would not bid for a first round playoff game in football. Different dynamics but I wasn't sure if that thought would carry over to hosting a WNIT game. Going back to 2011 WNIT at Wake Forest and UNC Charlotte, our fans totally took over both arenas and pretty much turned them into Club Corbett. I was a little fearful we'd think there would be no need to spend money on hosting if our fans would show up in even heavier numbers at UNCG and essentially turn it into an A&T home game. Great decision to submit a bid because UNCG knows us and I don't think they would have allowed us to take over Fleming. |

I wonder how the financials work Unlike football, I think the bid is a flat fee to the WNIT. All of the underlying offsets are up to us. We had plenty of offsets or cost avoidance items. BTW, the teams that got first round byes paid for them by making a second round bid. In 2022, a first round bid was minimum $6000 and a second round bid was a minimum $10,000. |
