QB - Braxton Thomas - Wont play much this year but will be the star of the future DT - Chris Kinsey - Dawg - not much to say after that LB - Terrell Dudley - Will start and make some type of all conference mention DT - Jacob Jenkins - will start as a freshman (Unless we sign a plug and play DT) ATH/RB/Safety - Daniel Coles - Will play alot and is better than a few safeties already on our roster
Im calling it now - These 5 are the Crown Jewels of this class
Also intrigued by WR - Cortez Lane

This guy appears to be coming in as our best coverage DB unless Prunty comes back. Macon's technique and coverage skills are top notch. His transitions, change of direction and ball skills really stick out on film. I'm looking forward to seeing what he does.

With quarterback, running back and a few on the offensive line and at linebacker being the exceptions. After last season , In my opinion it's Open Competition that will start in the spring and extend into the fall camp. With a new OC all the skill positions, should be open competition.

Are you saying our LB positions are already locked down? If so, which LBs?

Are you saying our LB positions are already locked down? If so, which LBs? Cade M. is one for certain. The other MLB/ILB slot is up for grabs, IMHO. I think the Valdosta State kid will be getting a good bit of reps there this spring but there should be healthy competition for that slot. And depending on the situation, we could see a few 3-4 packages where both OLBs are 6'4, 250. Meanwhile, we'll have some good depth in our 3-3-5 nickel packages. The main thing these kids will need is experience. But, we've gone from potentially starting kids sub 250 all across our front 7 to potentially having our NT and DEs weighing more than 280 lbs at times.

My greatest concern is overall wellness. Have we addressed our nutrition plans and strength/conditioning? We have shortcomings there. I'm comfortable with Brown making recommendations and sharing his need with the AD. But will we deliver?

Are you saying our LB positions are already locked down? If so, which LBs? "and a few on the offensive line and at linebacker being the exceptions" and "In my opinion it's Open Competition that will start in the spring and extend into the fall camp" dose that sound like anyone has a position "locked down" . The problem with our defensive unit was not the LB's but the defensive line and DB's that did more to avoid tackling then they did tackling. If the D line can not occupy the offensive lineman and create fill spaces for the LB and allow the O linemen to get to the second level and shade the linebackers it doesn't matter who the linebacker is. The linebackers were not the weak point of the defense but they were affected by our lack of size and effectiveness of our defensive line . There is no such thing As a Locked Down Position in Football. The philosophy that I have which was passed on to me by my mentors and I passed on to my players was " you have the position NOW, it is up to you to Prepare and Keep It" .

Not sure, that's what concerns me. My best guess to answer your question is No.
