I like the way the team played even with the loss. The game really changed with Murphy out with 12-14 minutes to play with foul trouble. Did not close out on the 3 pt shooters well because of trapping.
Definitely need more deadly 3 pt shooters for next year to compete in the CAA.
It seemed like Ross had a history with those referees and did not get any calls.

Always. I'm an Aggie supporter & believe our fans, students, & alumni deserve & should demand better. There's NO excuse for the lack of D1 basketball talent that has been put on display in Corbett Gym over the past (insert random number here) years. We are not winning the recruiting battles for in-state/backyard kids, as they're going to UNC-G. We don't seem to think that there are quality D1 players in NC, or in the US for that matter, so we go to Canada & Greece to find & sign guys no other D1 program pursued. Again...If you or any other Aggie fan are cool with a team shooting 29% from the floor & getting outrebounded most nights by 2 to 1 & getting 8-11 points from your post players, then, to quote a popular axiom from the 1970's, "Go on wit yo' bad self!" I believe we deserve & are reasonable to demonstrably expect better. We CAN bring in quality recruits who CAN excel & achieve in the classroom and on the court/track/fields of play.

Look, I can get critical with the best of them. This team has clearly improved. With that said, we don’t have enough talent to be a legitimate threat in the CAA. One thing I like…Coach Ross has command of this team. At timeouts, he’s coaching/teaching/designing plays…and everyone on the team is clearly listening and is attentive. It may not mean a lot to some, but the team is dialed in to what he’s teaching. If we can get this same behavior…..with better talent…then we can have something. Ross has just gotta recognize what CAA talent we need and secure it. That’s the nuts and bolts of it….

There are no consistent post touches for any of the bigs (Murphy, Joker, and Robinson). Entire offense is run outside of 15' unless late dribble drive.
I still believe Robinson gets completely forgotten about in 2nd half of games. With team being so young, you would hope Robinson could be a calming effect when runs occur and we take consecutive bad shots.
I do appreciate how mature Robinson has been when early season asked to play the 5. Playing there you've seen how he should be able to play in post in this league and be effective. Ironically first play of game tonight was to Robinson in post making a move to middle of lane and once defense collapsed to help he kicked to open Glasper for 3 to open scoring. Did not see that type of offense for remainder of game.
I believe in post touches on offense, it gets the defense moving and with proper movement without the ball can create some easy looks.
Maybe we'll grow offensively next few games and see some improvements.
Elon 2nd half offense got so many open looks because of dribble drive and kicks to open shooters

This team tends to show limited movement on offense at times . Small teams with no real inside presence have to rely on ball and player movement to get the easy 2 point shots . This jacking up 3's has to Stop are get better ,it's that simple.

We were not jacking up 3s tonight. We only shot 16 of them. Compare that to Elon's 34. I thought our bigs had enough opportunities to score...they just didn't. I'm glad we have bigs, but their upper body strength did not compare to Elon's. They just ain't strong enough to play big boy ball in the post. In the game, Glasper took a few bad 3s, but made a few of them. He took one egregiously bad 3....and coached yanked him, as he should have. We have our deficiencies in year one under Ross, but unlike football, I can see palpable progress. We may not win many games this year, but I see a vision/plan with Ross.

We had 24 points in the paint to Elons 26 . Why not feed the paint, just asking . Couldn't fine the game on flowsports replay .

it would be a mistake to place "high expectations" on our mbb team this season. to expect this team to run off "several" victories in a row is not the kind of "expectations" to place on this year's team. we only have "1" true post player, we only have "1" player (robinson) who has played extended minutes at the d1 level, and we have "zero" seniors on the team except for robinson.
anybody who thinks that you can throw together a "brand new" roster with "brand new" coaches who has only "1" true post player and only "1" highly experienced player at the d1 level on their team, needs to calm down, take some prozac or somethin' to handle that anxiety, and perhaps come back next year when we will have a "mature and experienced" mbb team coached by coaches who actually "know" their personnel much better, unlike this season.
i think coach ross knows what he's doing. he's not signing recruits who only care about "scoring" like we've had in the recent past (watson, woods). he's signing guys who play on "both ends" of the floor and those kind of players are difficult to find which means his pool of recruiting candidates is smaller than usual. coach ross is building a "team", not "individuals". coach ross has brought structure, organization, and discipline to our program that was sorely "lacking" last season.
nobody is happy with only 3 wins, including me. but i can see where coach is going with this roster, its not his fault that his only other true post player (felton) went down with another acl injury. and our aggie "greek freak" is 6'9" tall but is "not" a true post player.
this team is only a "high volume scorer" and a true major impact "post player" away from being a very good team that can compete with the upper half of the conference next season. hopefully, we already have another "high volume scorer" that's rehabbing (qua brown) for next season and we already have another "true post player" (felton) who is also rehabbing for next season. if they both are available 100% next season, plus we add a couple of additional major impact recruits, then this team can make some "noise" next season.
we're gonna take our lumps this season, but the team itself is "making progress". i don't expect this team to run off multiple victories in a row this season. but i'm pleased with the progress they've made so far. again, i see where coach ross is trying to go with this team and i like what i see, all considered...

btw, i agree that robinson should be on the floor more than what i saw tonight. i really don't know why coach doesn't play him more...

More quality depth is required but you can see the foundation of the team already this year…
With that added depth and experience, I expect us to be competitive in the CAA next year!

I was at the game last night sitting 3 rows up from the floor. We have some excellent young post / wing players. Both Joyner and young man from Greece are getting significantly better. This team is getting better.
The coach in me will never understand why we continued to try and double the post allowing Elon to reverse the ball for wide open 3’s.
Kid from Elon …Dorm was 5-8 from 3 point land. All of them were off of rotation and he was wide open. Only thing I can think of is Coaching staff felt our post would foul out without the guards dropping for weakside help.
Those 3’s killed us but good news we have enough talent to win some games. We could be dangerous as we get a few more games under our feet
