I wasn't surprised because at first I thought we were playing against Stanford from the Pac-12. But then I realized it was just Samford and we still lost by 20 and I got real sad.

You said preseason you wanted to see this team play defense. What is your opinion thus far? I have not seen them play yet.

we are too small to play effective defense. Teams have figured us out-We do not have a post presence, so opposing teams will feed the ball down low in the paint, causing the defense to crash in help mode. The opposing big can take it to the rack and draw the and-1 OR kick it out to the perimeter for a good look and conversion of a 2 or 3 ball. Even if they miss the shot, we don't understand the concept of boxing out, and we will give up the offensive board for an easy put-back or a reset with a fresh 30.

We're bad.

As I said earlier, I am praying and believing that Elon, Stony Brook, somebody, will slip and give us a win somewhere in there. Otherwise, I'm braced for an 0-32 season. I told y'all about two weeks ago when we lost to Pitt and UNC-G...Get your blood pressure, heart, and anxiety meds refilled. I did.

i've seen less than 10 minutes of the team playing this season. i referee high school and middle school basketball, so often my schedule conflicts with a&t's schedule which makes it difficult for me to catch their games.

but i still wanna see the team in a full game and yes, i still wanna watch them play defense. but what i didn't expect was both of our "only" bigs would go down with injuries. that defensively changes everything!

now our guards don't have that "insurance blanket" in the paint to clean up for them if they get beat off the dribble. i definitely wanted to see the d2 post player defend the paint for us. but without that asset, our defense is not gonna look nearly as good as it would if we had a "shot blocking" center in the paint...

To Me, it's early. Plus the Team is new, with it's Players.

Coach has to play small Ball. This Can win games, if the Team limits turnovers and shoots at a high percentage from the field and at the FT line.

Now He has his players. Watson and the rest of the former players are gone. I know that we need size. My thoughts are to still play a crafty inside game with who you have.

Robinson must give us a double-double every nite, and get guys in foul trouble. ( That's a tough road in this league).

Small ball teams play a lot of movement motion and picks sets that open up the inside to mid range shots . We are not moving alot for a team this small , so we settled for the three when the midrange shots are there .
