This was the list of final candidates announced for the vacant head coaching position at FAMU:
1. Alex Wood, Offensive Coordinator w/Arizona Cardinals (NFL) 2. Kent Schoolfied, Offensive Coordinator @ NCA&T 3. Lynwood Ferguson, Asst. Footballl Coach/Recruiting Coordinator @ Winston Salem State 4. Rubin Carter, Defensive Line Coach @ Temple University 5. Diodre Clark, Head Coach @ Shaw University
Do you think the odds are good that they will select School and if so, where would that leave us as a program, this close to summer camp?

Thrilla,
Why would you put some stuff like this on here to uck up my morning? Please! I've got enough to worry about here at work and at home.
When did Ferguson start coaching at Winston?

Man I cannot believe he put his hat in. Where is the loyalty. At least give us a year. This would also be tremendous hit for Small to replace at this time of the year.
Given his credential compared to the other coaches on the list like Ferguson(Give me a break) Kent will get the job hands down. That's my two cents.

Thrilla,
You're messing with my morning too! Regardless of who FAMU hires, it's gonna throw a wrench in sombody's program. Don't we have to give them permission to interview anybody on our staff?

I assume Small is "too nice of a guy" to tell his friend no. I'm like trues though: School should at least be expected to complete one season on the job before he goes looking for greener pastures. What was he doing this time last year before Small called him up and gave him a shot at OC?
Head coaching jobs become available every year. If I was Small I would just tell him sorry, but you're going have to miss out on the opportunity this time around.
Small's kindness may prove to be his ultimate un-doing.

Small ain't the man's daddy. Small can't tell the man who he can interview with, can he?

If this is true......If Schoolfield leaves, I'd fire Small. If he doesn't leave, I'd fire Small.

If School works for Small why couldn't Small refuse him the right to interview for another job. That is a common business practice. Especially since Small just gave him the job a few months ago.

Small ain't the man's daddy. Small can't tell the man who he can interview with, can he? If he is under contract, he can. If he's not working under a contract, he can't. But if the coordinators are not on a contract, I'd fire somebody. Oh that's right we already did that but that was before Schoolfield was hired. Hell, fire everybody! How do you let someone go to a team in your conference? That' ridiculus! Well, then again Small came from Hampton. My morning is shot. P.S. Thrilla, you could have kept this to yourself.

If Schoolfield leaves this close to the start of the regular season I am certain we won't win more than four games this year. No hold up. I forgot the fact that we have to play 3 games in 10 freaking days to start the season.
We won't win more than two.

I can't see any way that Small would allow School to interview for that position, especially if he's under contract. Now...I hope that School is under contract. It seemed like it took awhile before he was officially announced as the OC (he was, wasn't he?)
I agree Maxell, if Small gives School permission to interview, his azz should be fired!

I guess it would be hard for Small to say no to School. It's already hard enough for a brother to get a head coaching job and Small would more than likely empathize with School's situation.

Chit, what about Small's situation. His position is not safe. School could get a head coaching job next year when some head coaching gigs open. We have gone from suga to chit in one season under his watch. I'm not saying the wheels have fallen off, but the way I see it Small has something to prove this season...now more than ever seeing that the kids on the field are his.
