New HBCU College rankings lists: 1. Spellman; 2. Howard; and FAMU has now moved up to #3 in the rankings while NC A&T is back at #7! What is preventing NCAT from moving forward like Howard and FAMU has done?

I'd like to see the criteria used to make these rankings...I'm not saying the schools aren't ranked properly, but I've been looking at these types of ranking for a while and you usually see a "Spellman" at the top of the list...and a few shockers on in the top ten as well. I'll have to do some research on Spellman. I know it's a good liberal arts school, but there are a lot of good liberal arts schools. What are they doing when it comes to advanced degrees, research, etc.

US News & World Report explained the methodology changes in a news release, saying more than half of an institution's rank now relies on measures like enrolling and graduating students from all backgrounds, and post-graduation debt and success. It also noted the removal of factors like class size, faculty with terminal degrees, alumni giving, high school class standing and the proportion of graduates who borrow federal loans.

you mean, we don't get credit for being in the caa? i mean, how is it possible that a school from the meac and a school from the swac, out rank a&t? why didn't we get that caa "boost"? oh, i get it. maybe we haven't been in the caa long enough for "osmosis" to take place...

We did get a boost; we are now ranked 280 nationally.

I think what helps FAMU in these rankings is the joint engineering school with FSU.
