rain has never been an ally of passing the football, especially if its a "downpour". the qb has to pass a "wet" football and the receiver has to catch a "wet" football. both scenarios are conductive to producing "turnovers" for the offense.
throwing an "accurate" pass with a "wet" football is twice as hard as passing a dry football and catching a "wet" football is twice as difficult as catching a "dry" football because the water makes the football "slippery".
most teams are very "selective" when it comes to pass plays if its necessary to pass the football in the rain. instead, they tend to keep the ball on the ground to minimize the possibility of turning the ball over because of the rain...

As I stated Wet weather is and Offenses best friend.
Offensive players can use their judgments on the slickness of the turf and on the proximity of defenders to them to inform their decisions on when and how to make cuts. But when a ball-carrier makes a cut, a defender has no choice. He has to attempt to make the corresponding cut if he wants to make the tackle. I expect that becomes very difficult in moderate rain, and I think that neatly explains why receivers see an increase in their yards after the catch in moderate rain versus light rain. That in turn explains why receiver yards per target is higher in moderate rain and why quarterback yards per attempt is not lower in moderate rain than it is in light rain when completion percentage is lower.

If we are winning, but if we start losing to these PWI schools in the CAA, Truist will be as empty as Bluford Library at Homecoming. It wasn't long ago we were on here complaining about our students not showing up for games. We have a brief opportunity to generate some game day revenue if we start tomorrow night with a win.
