There are 60 more kids in this year's band - 255 to be exact. Everyone didn't march Saturday for various different reasons.

No doubt that helped to drive the numbers up as well as the fact there is an enormous incoming freshman class in general this year.

Ill believe it when I see it. HBCU bands always overstate their band membership numbers as if people can't count. Parades do not boost membership especially when the parade is after marching season.

So you think a free trip to California won't boost band numbers? It's like that year we played Southern in Vegas. The band ballooned then went back to normal size. |

I attended a meeting last Sunday and heard that band scholarships had gone from $100,000 to $130,000. With plans to raise it to over $1 million in 5 years. But that number, like the renovation of War Memorial may be delayed. 😆 |
