Like that they (whoever they are) selected us, but disappointed that they didn’t pick NSU

It's about creativity, and I hate to say it but inclusion. NSU falls in the same category as Bethune, where they are really good bands at what they do, but they have no creativity whatsoever and rarely plays to their audience. I can pick a band routine about 20 years ago for NSU and BCU and I can guarantee it will be the same this year.

I agree with what you’re saying about BCU, but I find NSU to be very creative, and entertaining. I guess it could be that I looked at their Rose Bowl Parade performances and was HBCU proud of the way the crowds responded. I don’t know much about the band that was chosen over them, I was just disappointed that they didn’t pick them.

Interestingly enough, there are only 4 HBCU bands on the map. I would've thought an HBCU would've come out of Alabama. But anywayz!

Don’t know anything about who put this list together, but I think it speaks to what “other” people think of HBCU bands. Some people like them…some people don’t, and some people don’t care.

i think "size" may be a factor. all of the hbcu bands on the map have "above average" size for an hbcu band. but of the 4 hbcu bands on the map, we're the "smallest"...
