Right now I count that we have 3 players on the current 9 man roster that are 6'5" or taller. Will Felton - 6'9" - R-Fr Austin Johnson - 6'9" - Sr Harry Morrice - 6'11" - Sr
I know Morrice is eligible to return if he claims medical redshirt. Does Johnson have any eligibility left?
If not, we are small and have no depth. The new coach is going to have to target some talented athletic SF, PF, and C.

What FCS school is great at both? Just my two cents on the above question. I would say that NCCU and Furman have a good balance between the 2 sports. Villanova, Holy Cross, North Dakota State , Hell mostly all the CAA teams with football and basketball have good balance between the two .

Why do people feel losing so many key players may be a good thing for A&T and the new coach? It is extremely difficult to recruit in this new era. Are we going to be patience enough to allow the new coach to build his team from scratch?. . . Still no answer to my above questions in an earlier post. Is this the burden you want to place on a new head coach, so he can prove to all how good of a head coach he is? Time is of the essence. Why we did not name a HC soon after the season ended has dumbfounded me? The only excuse I can make for them is again they are targeting someone who was playing in an NCAA, NIT, or D2 tournament. Wow, an entire season to search for the right coach.

Bottomline is that we need a fresh start. We've had nine years tumultuous change in the basketball program. The culture needs a refresh, period. That means coaches and some players.

We are six months after releasing our coach and we have the worse case imaginable…fleeing players, still no coaching staff and no public comment on what’s happening from our AD.

Basketball needs a Broadway.
If he demands more than any other coach or campus employee, sobeit.

What tumultuous change? We hired within to minimize changes and kept the same staff. Players change every year through simple graduation. How many more players we need to lose to complete the refresh phase if 6 is not enough for a fresh start?

We don’t l know what leadership has or hasn’t done, and that’s the real problem. Look, I remember a few months ago Aggies was on suicide watch about a new head foot coach, with players in the portal and signing day right around the corner. Y’all gonna have to learn to have some trust in our leadership or you gonna stay one step from jumping off the bridge on these types of decisions. I’m more worried about getting field turf in the stadium than I am about hiring the right coach…they seem to do a pretty good job at that.

Hate to say it like this but kids entering transfer could really be easier on new HC, less time evaluating current talent to see if they fit your vision. More time and monies can be allocating to securing players that do align with your plans.
It really could be making his job easier.

Grambling Volleyball coach was raked over hot coals naked over not renewing scholarships! The new coach won’t have that problem.
There are how many kids in the transfer portal? Enough for A&T to fill a roster with quality players that fit the new coaches philosophy.
