Blue Cross NC new Chief People Officer
Latisha Hamilton-Williams joins Blue Cross NC today as the Chief People Officer. Latisha is taking over the helm of the HR Division from Fara Palumbo, who is retiring at the end of the year. Fara will remain in the role of Executive Advisor to the CEO until her retirement.
Latisha returns to Blue Cross NC after senior HR leadership roles at two large companies. She has an extensive background in HR, including expertise in mergers and acquisitions, Total Rewards, and mobility programs.
Latisha was most recently the Senior Vice President, Total Rewards and HR Operations for Bridgestone Americas, Inc. In that role she led the design, development, implementation, administration and continuous improvement of Total Rewards, HR Operations and Global Mobility programs for 55,000 corporate, retail, and manufacturing employees in the United States, Latin America and Canada.
Latisha also served as the Senior Vice President of Total Rewards for Amedisys, Inc. a leading provider of home health, hospice, personal care and palliative care. In her role, she was responsible for Total Rewards, HR Operations, and HR Mergers and Acquisitions for more than 20,000 employees across the United States.
Tunde said, “Her deep experience and leadership will be essential as we continue to grow our diversified business opportunities that will help us deliver on our strategic goals.”
This is an amazing homecoming: Latisha worked here from 2004-2015. During that time, she served as a diversity consultant, Director of Human Resources Operations and Analytics, and Vice President of Human Resources Support Services. In her last role, before departing due to her husband’s job relocation, she was the Vice President of Total Rewards and People Services. In that role, she provided leadership and direction to the Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, HR Operations (Payroll, HR Technology, EEO Compliance, Policy, and Analytics), HR Communications and Employee Relations functions for the organization.
“I’m thrilled to be returning to Blue Cross NC, a company and mission that I’ve always cared so deeply about,” said Latisha. “I’m looking forward to leading, supporting and developing our talented human resources team as we enhance our enterprise talent and culture strategy to deliver on our Purpose. I believe in where we’re headed and I’m looking forward to being a part of it.”
Tunde said, “Latisha has the right skills, background, experiences, and leadership to take our people and culture strategy to the next level. I greatly appreciate her warmth and caring spirit. She embodies our ‘People First’ value and I can’t wait for you to meet her.”
Latisha and her husband James currently live in Nashville, Tennessee. She’s a big supporter of Hybrid Flex and will split her time between Tennessee and North Carolina. Latisha is a North Carolina native, a graduate of North Carolina A&T State University and a passionate supporter of community organizations in North Carolina and Tennessee.
For those who may or may not know Blue Cross NC is a very diverse company that has a lot of HBCU alums with our two Aggies sitting on the Board of Trustees (Dr. Harold L. Martin, Sr. & Willie A. Deese). With a black CEO and now our own taking charge of HR, make sure you notify students or fellow alums either looking for jobs to consider BCBSNC.
