Should have had an Aggie in the admin. with more pull than VP Harris. Her presence as the VP has helped Howard tremendously. We do have multiple Aggies in the admin…including the EPA Administrator Michael Regan. Probably more familiarity with Howard.

And probably more of a willingness to lead a consortium than compared to us or Morgan State.

We all or most Aggies know Michael Regan is the current leader of the EPA, and we also know that Kamala Harris is the VP, which is a very high profile job. That helps. We also know that many AGGIES live and work in government in the nations capital. Some are even elected officials, but none are the VP. Recently, Dr. Shantel Simpson an A&T Professor was appointed to the EPA Advisory Committee. A great honor, but she is not as well known as the VP. Besides, we all know that Howard gets some funding from congress.

If i follow the logical conclusion of your statement…the only person with more pull than the VP in the United States government is the president. So is that what you meant? I am down for the right Aggie as President.

Side note: Also it is clear it is some separation going in between us, Howard, FAMU, and possibly Morgan. Interesting Hampton or Tuskegee are not in any of these discussions. Would not be surprised to see PV and Tenn State start to make moves. thecapitolist.com/florida-am-university-reports-record-year-in-research-and-development-funding/amp/The figure elevates FAMU toward the top of research and development metrics among Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), trailing just North Carolina A&T University, which received $97.3 million in research and development funding, and Howard University, which received $122 million. FAMU research and development funding increased by more than $10 million over the previous fiscal year, making the Tallahassee-based State University System (SUS) institution first among HBCUs for nonmedical school funding, according to Charles Weatherford, vice president for Research at the university. “In federal spending, we are No. 1 among HBCUs,” Weatherford said. “It’s clear our competitors are N.C. A&T State University and Howard University.”

i just read the award announcement and a couple of things could to mind: 1. Howard along a number of HBCUs won the award. 2. Howard is the lead university and all others are sub awards 3. Howard and the subawardees will split the $, meaning Howard will get a significant share (?50%) but the rest goes to subawardees.
This coaltion of HBCUs most likely colaborated with different circiulums/research to support the evaluation criteria very well. More than likely, A&T formed partnerships with some of these other HBCUs but not enough to overcome the Howard submission. There were notable omissions for the Howard award that leads me to guess A&T, Morgan & FAMU submitted a proposal also...

Our proposal probably had us doing it all ( Aggie Arrogance) LOL You probably right LOL !! I’m disappointed but I would rather Howard get it and see the money spread across a lot of HBCU…because you know A&T, FAMU, and Morgan was planning something altogether different. A&T, FAMU, and Morgan do quite well with government research. Now if FAMU or Morgan got it I’d be like Damn !

I hope the school sought and received feedback on its proposal.
Any truth to the rumor that Morgan was runner up?
