Thank you Coach Ross for your service! We can reduce the salary and increase the number of coaches to add some distance expertise. We have a world class facility, recruiting budget, and a more than competitive salary. How about we let the incoming coach decide how to run and build their program. If the new coach want to focus on sprints, so be it. It’s their livelihood on the line not ours. Who are we tell a coach how to run their program! We finished 2nd in the nation in indoor and you guys are telling someone how to run their program? We finished 5th in outdoor and you guys want to tell the coach of the year his formula for success is flawed? Yeah right

Among others, I hope that we can retain the female track athlete that just committed to us from Texas.

Coach Ross worked his way up to 325K. I wouldn't expect the next coach walking in the door to make that. Is there another coach out there worthy of those kinds of dollars right now? JMHO... Truthfully Ross may have been one of the highest paid T&F coaches in the NCAA before incentives and bonuses kick in new . I don't see a problem base salary wise , because Ross was already in the top 1% before Bonuses and Incentives. 100k base is attractive to T&F coaches . T&F Coach Salary ANNUAL SALARY MONTHLY$$$ Top Earners $104,000 $8,666 75th Percentile $57,500 $4,791 Average $44,565 $3,723 25th Percentile $12,000 $1,000 openpayrolls.com/job/head-track-coach

I hesitate to do this due to possibly stokin' 2039's ire, but here goes: 1. FAMU's 220 Quarterback Club Mtg - www.youtube.com/watch?v=G335q-SkjQI&t=2362s - Watch out for those seat backs! - And for those that seem to be in the dark/heads in the sand/etc. you'll see that some/many things aren't just "It's simple.", "Somebody should be able to do this/that easily.", etc. - Greasy cars! 2. The Fred McNair Show (5/23/2022) - www.youtube.com/watch?v=m2eQEX6PfYw

I’m not asking for something that isn’t already being done by our peers🤷🏾♂️ It doesn’t have to be elaborate…they are in a church cafeteria, lol

They both happened to show up in my Youtube recommendations and I decided to post them here for people to see some of the things happening. I also wish we had more of those kinds of things and why I had no issue with that point you made. If you watch/listen to it you'll hear them pitting churches against each other, among quite a few other things I didn't list!

hbcugameday.com/2022/05/25/duane-ross-plucked-in-a-hurry-by-tennessee/The News-Sentinel updated a story Wednesday indicating that Ross signed a five-year deal for $450,000 annually. Its initial story Tuesday said the financial arrangements were not disclosed. The amount would put him near the top of track and field head/cross country head coaches in the SEC and around the country. Smith Gilbert, who was hired at Georgia in June 2021 after leading the Southern Cal women to the 2021 NCAA Outdoor title, earns $500,000 per year. Holloway, who has ten NCAA titles in 20 years at Florida, has a total compensation package of $462,000. Holloway was the U. S. Track & Field head coach for the Tokyo Olympics. Pat Henry’s package as Texas A&M’s director of track & field/cross country pays him a base salary of $421,894 according to published information. LSU head track and field coach Dennis Shaver has a base salary of $370,000. Shaver led LSU to the 2021 men’s NCAA Outdoor title. Texas A&M under Henry finished second in 2021 in the women’s NCAA Outdoors. Our $325K is actually a really good amount…

Finding the right person with right combination of experience, personal appeal, and successful reputation to attract, sign, and develop top tier recruits in a like manner and proficiency of a Ross is the ultimate hurdle we have to clear.

All the talk about ex pro track athletes, haven't heard anyone mention one who is already in NC .... Bershawn Jackson now St Aug coach .. Not big enough name. He has already signed someone we wanted? My take on Bershawn Jackson is that he doesn't have enough experience on this level. The most experience he has right now is running a track club. The St Aug job is his first coaching job at the collegiate level. Yes, he may bring his daughter, who could run professionally as a junior in high school right now, but we cant assume he or her would follow the "Ross plan".

The St Aug job is his first coaching job at the collegiate level. Yes, he may bring his daughter, who could run professionally as a junior in high school right now, but we cant assume he or her would follow the "Ross plan". Most coaches come in with there own vision and expectations . It may beneficial to get input from Coach Ross on the search and evaluation process, if they are looking for a Ross clone . For it's as 2039 stated "A-2039 How about we let the incoming coach decide how to run and build their program. Yeah right" . It is hard to replace a Legend and there will be growing pains regardless of who the replacement is, but what is Paramount is to have that replacement in place before the end of the NCAA track season . So that he can conversate and pick Coach Ross's brain 🧠 and also to add or replace any athletes that decide to follow Ross .
