"Transparency" in this case equates to people wanting to know who all the candidates are prior to A&T actually hiring someone so they can endlessly debate all of the possible choices on message boards, social media and the like. Aggie One - Figured that might be it but didn't want to speculate. IF that's really it, do you know of ANY time we've EVER done that? Same question for anybody else.

No to both questions. Not by design anyway. In the old days A&T coaching candidates' names would always seem to pop up through the newspaper reports, sometimes from the candidates themselves, or from repeated conversations through back-channels courtesy of the antiquated "100-man search committee" approach.
However, in the modern-day reality of how the university operates under Dr. Martin, the Athletic Director is being tasked to initiate inquiries and make the contact(s), gauge the depth of the interest and narrow the list of candidates, complete the interview(s) and make a recommendation to the Chancellor. Some schools may use private agencies to find candidates but the above model is how most D-1 programs now handle head coaching vacancies.
Either way the process is no longer open to public scrutiny or fan approval nor should it be.

Ross Jr is going to run at UT. Very shrewd and dirty work from Coach Ross.

What's dirty about what Coach Ross is doing?

A son wants to help his dad win a national title🤷🏾‍♂️.
I don’t believe it will be rewarding for young Ross, a hollow championship.
Personally I would feel fulfilled winning a team championship with guys I have known less than a year. Representing the university of TN after spending 3 years at A&T 👎🏾.
Like we have said numerous times, until we as HBCU alums support athletics like other institutions the talent drain will continue to happen.

Be that as it may 2039, I just don't view it as dirty. Of course, I would love Jr. to remain in Royal Blue & Old Gold but ain't mad that he is going with his dad.

I’m honestly not getting what they mean either…Who exactly should the AD be communicating with? The alumni?🤔 If he is communicating to anyone . It should be reassuring our remaining track athletes and newly-signed talent that he is aggressively searching for their future HC before some decide to look elsewhere.

You guys have been left in the dark so long about everything that happens at A&T, you now feel like that is just the way things are supposed to operate.
It's not.
A competent athletic department can keep its fanbase informed about the process of making a high-profile hire.

UT didn’t do that when they hired Ross in less than 72 hours

A competent athletic department can keep its fanbase informed about the process of making a high-profile hire. To your point, do you know of others that do it?

To be honest, UT's track and field coaching position was/is not as high-profile as the T&F position was/is to us.
A&T hiring its next T&F coach would be the equivalent of UT hiring a head football coach.

It's nice you're comparing ourselves to Rocky Top. However, their football budget trumps most FCS Athletic Department budgets. There's an interest there for the department AND 3rd-party entities to have this information out there. And to be honest, BDV could be the ones out here putting out this information utilizing their sources on the ground in GSO and beyond. Like, I'm pretty confident Sam Washington has his full staff in place and on campus, along with a few surprises for the roster. I'm sure this info will trickle out once Kev gets the headshots for the updated roster in August. However, BDV could be "leaking" this info now. So, I'm sure our AD is going through his interview process now as we've known Coach Ross' move for at least 30 days.
