It’s a very useful tool. Another one is ope.Ed.gov/athletics and USA Today’s database.
However, they’ll never tell the real story because the line items will never be as well-defined as we need. Like for example, it will not clearly show how the celebration bowl Money was divided.
2039’s FOIA pdf did, at least somewhat.
IMHO, the best one is the CCIA budgets that pop up in the BOT notes from time to time.
It’ll be nice if Bornthrilla files that FOIA request to get the detailed budgets and really set tHis thing off.

I'm not sure there's a smoking gun you can just ask to see with a FOIA request. Sounds like you are talking about doing a full audit of their books.

But you can see how things were allocated moreso than what's publicly available. It's essentially what 2039 or Mike Brown from Extra Points pulled with his database.

Time to fire up this database again and do some comparisons with current CAA schools.

Time to fire up this database again and do some comparisons with current CAA schools. From the perspective of money it looks like we should be somewhere around $28M to be competitive not only in our conference but in FCS as a whole. I know schools have done it with less, but just in comparison.

I know schools have done it with less, but just in comparison. Not a good comparison, more research should be done. 1) CAA schools offer more sports a) more coaches to pay b) more athletes on scholarship c) more support staff required d) more travel cost (transportation, lodging and per diet) 2) Tuition and fees are more a) ex 1..W&M full cost of tuition ( Out of state $67K, in state $43K) 1) that means scholarship cost per athlete are higher. 3) local cost of living is higher therefore coaches must be paid more. a) feeding athletes cost more, medical care is higher, support staff pay cost more. Dorms and apartments cost more. School meal plans cost more. Facility maintenance cost more. With a budget of $20M and no new sports we would be in a position to win multiple titles. Facilities, strength & conditioning, and nutrition are our biggest areas of need.

I did mention that I know schools have done it with less so no need to make that point. Where would an extra $3M go, for us?

Facilities, strength and conditioning staff and nutrition. New softball stadium, football practice facilities, field house expansion/renovation with a nutrition center and staff. A recovery room and with small pools is my opinion. Stadium and basketball arena upgrades.

LOL Isn't that plan over $100M? 😂😂😂 True, however just like a home the school can get loan for the pressing items like a new softball stadium and field renovations. Let’s not forget that $4M x 5yrs is $20M. A lot can be accomplished.

I believe Dr. Martin or Hilton mentioned us getting to a budget of 25M in the CAA and it considered at least some of the things 2039 mentioned.
