On a disappointing note, as a former Aggie baseball player, I noticed that this is probably the first time in our entire baseball history that we don't have a single HBCU opponent on our schedule...not one.
We've been playing baseball at A&T since at least 1917. We certainly should have scheduled a series with Norfolk State, IMHO.

I’ve attempted multiple times to get a group of former black players to participate in activities like the alum bums game, and tailgate at home coming we haven’t been consistent enough and in my opinion it has begin to look and take on the personality of a PWI school team, if we don’t care why should they. We are too inconsistent as a group at upholding the legacy.

NSU is the nearest HBCU to NCAT playing baseball. ... A trip to Florida would not bankrupt us FAMU and Bethune on the same leg. Those three would be very good annual competition.

The interest has to be mutual🤷🏾♂️ Who says FAMU wants to travel 10 hours to Greensboro in a non-revenue sport? Why travel that far when they are surrounded by quality competition within the region? Same with BCU… In 2022 BCU has one non conference series outside the state of FL and that is against LSU.

Mutual.... Yes... None of those schools "need" to play NCAT in baseball

Imho, we’ll get a chance to play HBCUS in the upcoming HBCU World Series once it gets off the ground. However, with travel costs a major issue, I don’t foresee us playing very many games outside of the Big South footprint.
With that being said, we are flying to Nebraska for a few games. Perhaps in 2023, we’ll see a Florida or Deep South swing where we can get a SWAC program on the schedule as we travel to play an SEC school or two.
Lastly, I think that Nebraska trip is being paid by one of those schools we’re playing out there in Corn Country. 🤷🏿♂️Perhaps we can see a schedule where we end up playing Grambling, LSU, and Southern for our one out of region trip that LSU pays for.

LSU and Southern are both in Baton Rouge…that game makes sense. Playing the other schools doesn’t…kids still have classes to get back to.

HBCU World Series is for Div2 and NAIA schools HBCU baseball will continue with the Black College World Series in its second year. The event is an annual postseason tournament that will determine a national champion for HBCU “small school” baseball programs. The series will feature eight HBCU baseball teams, four from the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II and four from the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). HBCU baseball programs from these two athletic governing associations constitute the “small school” division.

There was a post-season game scheduled between Southern and Norfolk State this past Spring that was canceled due to Covid. I believe that was also called the HBCU World Series but I'm not sure anymore. Dr. Cavil is now on the board of the organization behind these games.

I understand that many HBCUs have dropped the sport, but if one is playing and they are close by we should make the effort to play each other.
