It is a sad commentary to see those who are supposed to be educated yet possess a closed mind because they refuse to honor the age old idea of knowing one's self. It is such individuals who are more dangerous than the dope peddlers and those who seek fulfilment of their escapism. Sir, You are the one interjecting either blatant Covid-19 misinformation or incoherent ramblings on the state of being Black in America on irrelevant posts. Have you ever written a peer-reviewed article based on a qualitative or quantitative analysis or experiment performed? And contrary to what you believe based on a simple one-word post here, I know way more than you realize and as you hopefully were, I was taught how to think during my time at T in the 2000s. Lastly, please read over your posts before sharing. The lack of proper grammar, usage, syntax, and spelling makes your posts hard to comprehend.

The North Carolina Diabetes Research Center (NCDRC) is an interactive regional diabetes research community across four premiere research institutions in North Carolina, who currently garner over $70 million annually for support of their diabetes research: Duke University (Duke), The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC), Wake Forest School of Medicine (WF), and North Carolina A&T State University (NC A&T State). The American Diabetes Association estimates 53,000 people in North Carolina are diagnosed with diabetes every year. Minority populations are disproportionately affected by diabetes across the nation. African Americans are twice as likely to suffer from diabetes and diabetes-related disorders than their non-Hispanic Caucasian counterparts. According to the Centers for Disease Control’s recent National Diabetes Statistics Report, the incidence of new cases of type 2 diabetes among African American adolescents in 2015 was nearly eight times higher than non-Hispanic Caucasians. These institutions are focusing on issues that effect that black community and people are upset that A&T isn’t collaborating with other HBCUs…who cares? It’s about the end result, making conditions better for our community www.ncat.edu/news/2020/04/ncat-partners-awarded-nih-grant-diabetes-study.phpNot opposed to this. Again it is the funding formula that I take issue with Meanwhile UNC-G just got a new School of Nursing Building while we still have Noble Hall structural disparity.

A&T asked for a new research facility not a nursing building 🤷🏾♂️ The school determines which new buildings are built, based on our master plan the research facility was priority #1 You should look at the BOT notes sometimes

I want this to be a bigger story among alumni. This is a big deal with big implications and it's going to take all of us pushing to make it happen.
I realize it's not sports and isn't a hot topic at GHOE but dammit it's a major goal for our Dear A&T! I'M4R1! RU4R1?

It is a VERY BIG DEAL. Admittedly, I have not talked about it much but I will start!

The Carnegie R1 rating has nothing to do with in relation to Athletics and all to do with Research and facilities . Wayne State the division 2 program that as a Carnegie R1 Rating to different funding portals.

The thing I like about this goal is that it is very measurable just like sports. 1. A target number of research dollars (around $150 million) 2. A target number and type of PhD programs 3. A target number of research faculty 4. By a certain time (2030) So we need to add about $9 million a year in research. And add the programs to attract those dollars.

If we suddenly woke up tomorrow morning and found out that we were a R1 university, what tangible advantages would that give us?

If we suddenly woke up tomorrow morning and found out that we were a R1 university, what tangible advantages would that give us? State funding is tied to it. We’ll receive more funding as a R1 The state has deliberately and systemically shorted us billions of dollars in funding since our inception. The fact that we are scrapping and clawing our way to R1 status with the expectation that it will bring us more state funding is tragically and criminally ironic. If they paid us what they OWED us then we could easily achieve R1 status and much more.

Freeze, are you saying that with a return of the stolen funding we could achieve R1 status independent of a conference affiliation?
