That Big Man 3 will be there year. Him, Harry, whomever. I liked what I saw. Protection of the rim, outside 3’s ( compared to other years). If they play like this, they will be right there… just make plays

I'd never thought I'd say this but this one is not on Jones' coaching. We have no real shooters until Powell is able to get on the court. Whatley shot waaaay too much. Tyler Maye is our secret weapon. Watson is a plyer but he was trying to do too much at times. Rebounding is still an issue too many second shots. Should have won this for sure. Reason for optimism: Watson (and Powell) is a freshman. Smith joins the team in December. Cause for pause: Free throws; not sure how good UNCG is this year until they play someone else. I'll take the shooting as a result of tired legs. The conditioning will come around. We'll be just fine for conference play.

How we have tired legs and this is the first game of the year? Conditioning? Wasn’t no tired legs, he was shooting 3 pointers in the first half too… UNCG played the same amount of minutes and this was their first game too

Hell...if we hit FTs, we still win this game. Langley? Can't lay all the missed FTs on Kam.
We went 13-for-22 (59.1%) from the line: >Kam missed 4 >Watson missed 3 >Maye missed 2
But it's a team game. It was a team loss.
(And UNCG shot worse from the line than we did...52.9%.)

The team needed a leader to calm the storm and guide us to a victory..... ....if only we had a 5th-year senior PG who's seen every aspect of DI basketball to guide our team through the storm.

I’m only giving Kam a hard time because he is the PG, he handles the ball the most and has to deliver in crunch time since he has the ball so much.

Well this would be the one time I wish Jones took after Washington.
Correct me if I'm wrong but Webster Filmore started for you last season and got markedly better as season progressed. He has been a mainstay for the past 2 seasons when once you lost Ron Jackson and Haygood and had no other big. He's not as flashy but works really hard and gives tremendous effort on both ends of the floor.
I would have thought for sure he would have earned at least double digit minutes for the work he's already put in. Of he does play more thay rebounding margin would have been a lot different.
It was a few guys from last season that didn't even scratch I don't believe, Jeremy Jones, Milton Matthew's (who was recruited as a shooter). And as small as he was, we let one of our best 3 pt shooters walk.

How we have tired legs and this is the first game of the year? Well here we go again. Losing to a team that is located on the same street about a mile away. The same school that we compete against for recruits. They continue to beat us and ridicule our program and university. We continue to make excuses for why we lost the game. Tired legs. If that is the case. we may as well end our season at the end of November. Rest easy Cal, Gene and Don. We may have to bring Big Ed Fort to campus to explain to Coach and AD the importance of this game. Tell them to stop playing this team the first game of the season. Wait until the players get accustom to playing together and are more seasoned. Remember, unlike uncg who has usually built their veteran team ground up, we seem to build our team top down with transfers or Juco players who are with us for one or two years. Some are not starters for their previous school.
