We've scored a very late commitment for this upcoming season with the commitment tonight of 6-4 shooting guard Garrison Powell from Holy Innocence Episcopal High School in Atlanta, GA. Powell, who averaged 17.1 pts and 6.4 rebounds last year as a junior, was slated to be a fast-rising mid major senior prospect for the class of 2023 but reclassified in recent weeks to the 2022 recruiting class after getting hard scholarship offers not only from A&T but from Elon, New Mexico, JMU, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Florida Gulf Coast, and Middle Tennessee State. I know lots on this site don't necessarily shower Koach with praise. But, when he's had the athletic wing in place coupled with the defense he likes to play we've been very good. If we have at least 2-3 guys that can flat out shoot it, I think we have a late run in us at the CAA tourney.
I hate that we didn't get an opportunity to play Norfolk when we had the false positive to the staff. And I know that MEAC good isn't enough in the CAA. Methinks the collection of parts and a growing Koach Jones (remember you all don't want to acknowledge that he is a young HC overseeing a team that is playing in it's 3rd conference in 3 years - whispering) will be improved.
The only adjustment I'd like to see is some version of a pick and pop game just to offer more diversity within our offense.

Koach was at his best when he has the athletic talent to run an extended 1-3-1 . That defense can create a lot transition offense

Just imagine if that added component of perimeter shooting shows up coupled with how effective we were in transition. Scary good.

His problems are at the offensive end of the court . His offensive ( last years) offensive philosophy was stagnant with a lot of standing around by the Lowe post players and the rest doing the Globetrotter weave in the front Court . It's not about what is MEAC good because we are not in the MEAC. Hell I doubt that crap would work even their . The MEAC is past history. It's time we start acting like it and drop the comparisons and start comparing ourselves to the competition we will face .

Has anyone put to gather a list of potential players on the 2022/2023 roster. I know we are limited to 15 scholarships but it seems to me we have exceeded that number.

His offensive strategy must become more diverse. Perhaps the staffing change will address it. My larger point is it takes time for 1st time Head Coaches to settle into that challenge. But the Aggie faithful like most lack patience with that process.
