lol excluding Kennesaw and Monmouth...Might need to add Charleston Southern to that conversation. Our only real gimmie games will be Robert Morris and Hampton. This is arguably the most challenging schedule we've ever had. Finally! Someone has pointed that out! We need to get used to the fact that we are not going to blow everyone out with the occasional SC State or FAMU game down to the wire. Those type games will be more of the norm from my vantage point.

more and more i'm beginning to believe that teams who played spring 2021 or fall 2020 ball may have a slight advantage over those who haven't played since 2019. i haven't checked all of the teams, but "off the top of my head", most teams that i'm aware of that haven't played since 2019 have had a tough go of it against teams that played spring 2021 or fall 2020.
furman played spring 2021 ball and duke played fall 2020. also, famu loss to jsu, tennessee state loss to jsu and also grambling. neither famu nor tsu played spring 2021 or fall 2020. not an excuse, just an observation...

There are no Cupcake , Walkover , Gimme games not at the D1 level , maybe on paper but once on the field all bets are off . No one should be over looked .

It dose seem to be that way . Also there skill position players conditioning seems to be ahead of the curve over the ones that did not play .

I agree. I think back in the spring some of us (me, mainly lol) were grasping at straws when we thought we may be better off due to the lower chance of injury and burnout from not playing twice in one year.
As Steve Spurrier stated, hindsight is 50/50. Really wishing we'd pushed the issue, told the MEAC to kiss that a$$, and played a spring schedule. Imagine how much further along we'd be.

Good point but we cannot use that against NCCU. Like I said its hard to measure our team because we have players hurt, growing pains with Fowler, Jah. is hurt we dont have our starting Defensive lineman all back. Leslie down. But I can say this if we lose to NCCU we definitely not as good as advertise. We cannot lose our first home game!!!!!

Personal opinion.....there's too much panic collectively on this website after 2 games where 1) We lost to a quality Southern Conference program that played in the spring 2) We lost to an FCS team, but played them tight for a half with our 2nd string QB
Do I have concerns....yes. I went to both games. A&T was getting stronger vs Furman as the game went along.... Duke was just deeper and better than us, but I was extremely pleased with our level of competitiveness.....An FBS team had to onside kick us because our O-line was pushing their FBS D-line around (let that marinate for a second).
We got 2 weeks of REST and PREPARATION. This will pay huge dividends. We are an extremely talented team that simply needs to correct some things. I'm hoping our coaching improves. I'm hoping our health improves. But, all in all, I gotta say, I'm not particularly worried at this point in time. That very well may change....but putting up quality efforts (in losses) vs Furman and Duke don't have me frustrated.
Let this season play out. Let the team make adjustments and improve. Believe me, if we lose some games where we just flat out look unprepared, I'd be the most upset poster on this board and state my frustrations. We just gotta let this thing play out for now.....by the way, I think our next few opponents may be in trouble.

You know we don't "let things play out". Remember, we hadn't talked about an Aggie football game in nearly two years. That's lot of pent up opinions. LOL

Run through? Should happen for most teams, but 1 or 2 might be tough. lol excluding Kennesaw and Monmouth...Might need to add Charleston Southern to that conversation. Monmouth plays at Charleston Southern this weekend. Talk about a game that sets the tone early for the conference. Definitely looking forward to watching it for comparative analysis.
