I don't put much relevance on W/L nearly two years old.
Furman playing this spring is meaningful. They didn't play well. Better not take us lightly either. Fowler doesn't have to throw 300+ yards for us to win. He just needs a good performance.

Flying into Charlotte on Friday and driving to Greenville. Any hotel recommendations other than downtown? or is downtown the best?

Downtown is best but a lot of other options including the Airport Marriott, Airport Best Western, Hampton Inn and Courtyard Marriott on Parkway. Hilton Hotel, Hampton Inn, Hyatt Place, La Quinta, Marriott Courtyard on Haywood. Haywood Rd features the largest indoor mall in SC. Embassy Suites on Verdae. Drury Inn, Hilton Garden Inn, Holiday Inn, Best Western, Hampton Inn, My Place hotel, Extended Stay, Candlewood Suites, Belmont by Wyndham, Comfort Suites, Cambria all on Woodruff. Residence Inn, Wyndham, Home 2 Home on Pelham. Crowne Plaza, Days Inn, Comfort Suites on Roper Mountain/Congaree. Really just about any hotel chain is available just depends on what you want and how much you want to spend. All of the above are further from Furman than the downtown ones. Below is the dowtown hotel info I posted in another thread.
If you are planning on staying in Greenville I would suggest staying downtown. Greenville has an award winning downtown with river, waterfall with walking bridge, and over 100 testaurants ranging from high end to burgers. Its a bit pricey but is worth it. About 5 miles to the Furman campus. Here are some downtown hotel suggestions:
Hyatt Regengy
Westin Poinsett
Embassy Suites
Marriott Courtyard
AC Marriott(brand new)
Aloft
Hampton Inno
Springhill Suites
Holiday Inn Express
Home 2 Home
Homewood Suites
Residence Inn
Hyatt Place
Note: Embassy Suites and Hampton Inn are on the river. The other Embassy Suites on Verdae has a golf course for you golfers.

I went on there forum one guy had a good point. We struggle to beat Charleston southern they blew they a$$ out that same year 2019. They only loss to Virginia Tech. by a touchdown. You all need to understand this aint Shaw University we are play in the beginning of the season. Plus they played this spring and we did not. We starting a new QB. I need a drink!!!!! Furman played another FBS team the week before losing to Va. Tech 24-17. They played Georgia State and lost a shootout 48-42. The week before Georgia St. had beaten Tennessee. |

I hear there's still a lot of road construction on I85 before you get to Greenville? May want to take that into account.

You're in Lake Wyle...I'm in Belmont near Lake Wylie. And yes, I 85 south near Greenville is awful. Traffic should be lighter on Saturday but it's Labor Day weekend so it could be nasty. |
