I was a teen as Furman was playing in and winning national championship games so I have a serious respect for the program. They traveled well when I was younger, that much I remember.

Heard throught the grapevine from a reliable source FU is expecting about 2,000 A&T fans which is a littke disappointing but there is no way to anticipate walkup but you wouldn’t think thst would be a lot. Hey 2000 Aggie fans plus the BGMM will be plenty enough if we are kicking Furman's butt. You know us "Traveling Aggie" fans can raise much hell when we are winning! "Traveling Aggie" fans are different than those "wine and cheese" Aggies that hibernate in Truest Stadium. But if we are getting smacked in the nose, 2,000 fans will not be enough. Just depends on how we are playing. At this point, I don't care if it 2,000 or 2 dozen Aggies that show up, I'm going to be there, the team will be there and the BGMM will be there...screw everything else! |

First time I've ever heard that 2000 expected from a FCS non-rival visitor would be a disappointment? Didn’t mean that was diappointing, it is very good, just disappointing from the talk of filling up the visitors side(6,000) that some were saying, Weather just keeps getting better: Kickoff: Sunny 82 degrees 41% humidity(wow!) no chance of rain. When we get a cut of the gate, I'll start worrying about whether our fans show up! |

I guess you don't know our history with playing home-and-home with SOCON and Big South schools. What normally happens is we fill up the visitor side with our fans and band. The band tends to take up more seats than actual head count, so 150 piece band might take up 300 seats. Anyways. We bring enough to mostly fill the visitor side if the game is an interesting one, the drive isn't to far, or if its near a city with a heavy Aggie alumni base. So we end up bringing a few thousand, but when it comes back to A&T the school may return the favor with a number in the hundreds. Sooo, when you said disappointed I NOW know what you meant, but in general I dont think the SOCON travels like that at all does it? So 2000 would be a large crowd on your visitor side on a normal gameday right...especially if the opponent is out of state? |

I’ve seen App.St, Ga.Southern and Citadel fill up the visitors side but not recently. Its a different world now witn every game on TV etc. Unless you are a Clemson evey team struggles with attendance these days. The SoCon in general does not travel well, with maybe an exception when it is a realky big game. Then like you said what FCS team does travel well these days along with most FBS teams. Anyway, its almost game day and really looking forward to kickoff. See yall tomorrow!!

FYI if you are coming north from downtown you will see a sign for Paladin Stadium and Timmons Arena. That will take you to the home side. Don’t take that exit, keep going straight and go under the bridge and the main entrance will be about 1/4 mile on your right.
