Where is that guy now and how did he pan out at Maryland? Just wondering because we don't hear much about Maryland football around these parts. It was really strange because, he was not listed on the roster at all when I went to look him up but, he played in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl in New York against Va. Tech. His name is Corey Dyches, that's why I remember so well, his last name is not a common name at all. He caught 1 pass and took a hard hit and it look like he got hurt so, we didn't see him any more in the game. But, my point was, he was 2 star athlete in basketball and I think, not sure, 3 star in football. We wouldn't even reach out to him. I talked to his mother on many occasions and she wanted him to consider HBCUs but, not 1 reached out to him, yet he's at Maryland. It was just some food for thought. ohsix, do you know if his parents ever considered reaching out to the hbcu of their choice? i'm pretty sure that our coaches would take a look at any "legitimate" prospects who express an interest in attending a&t cuz that means that they'd have a legitiate chance of signing the kid. and when i say "take a look", i mean pull up his online videos to see if he fits our needs. my thinking is if our coaches are impressed with his online videos, they'd make an effort to followup and sign him...

Well, I'm sure they would have entertained any calls or would have called if they had numbers to coaches in order to call. When I talked to Gibbs at a basketball game, he told me send him and Coard an email with the number of the kid, I assumed they would reach out but, they didn't. I would check with his mom periodically and she would confirm no contact from our coaches. So, I assumed they didn't want him or he didn't fit our system. Secondly, I believe that they weren't going to beg us to look at the kid when he had a power 5 FBS school offer in hand. So...that's one that got away.

No, I agree with you but, it seemed they were playing with house money if you will. They had an offer in hand from Maryland but, were willing to entertain any HBCU that would reach out and contact them. Oddly none did and when our coaches didn't reach out they probably saw it as they cannot miss what they never had.
