I expect Watson, Horton, Beatty and the 2 incoming freshmen may have played a role in Kenyon going in the portal. May have? God speed to the kid either way. Said it that way since I don't "know".

Duling and Beatty were clones of each other.

It takes a special mindset to understand that you are not going to play 35 minutes in Jones' system unless you are the PG. His formula is everybody else plays 12-20 minutes. He may change that philosophy going into the Big South or based on the new talent but we'll see. The transfer portal is certainly going to create ego issues for coaches to manage.

Duling and Beatty were clones of each other. Yeah. That said, the ratings make it look like Beatty is the better player of the 2.

Yep that and a big difference in the consistency between the two. Researching Beatty's history, he was a dependable leader, scorer, and defensive presence throughout his time at LaSalle who can play either guard spot. I think that consistency and versatility was one of the big things we were missing this past season especially early on before we hit the hot streak in the last six weeks of the season.

As I've been saying over the past several years now: Guys don't want to COMPETE anymore...they just want things given to them.
And I'm not talking about just at Ayantee, but nationwide. It's their mindset now.

I feel you aggierattler! Roy Williams had enough of this foolishness. I wish I could have been a fly on the wall when Fred C. told coach Jones that he was transferring....lol

cleveland had "outstanding" potential, but he doesn't know how to let the game come to him. he kept "forcing" shots that wasn't there. i thought after his freshman season he would've figured all of that out, but he never did...

I would fault the NCAA for granting access to all of the athletes to go wherever they want with no penalty. You can't compare this generation to any other because they never had this opportunity.

Irvin, Corbert and Big House Gains were no nonsense old school coaches ..ie My Way or the Highway type coaches that did not mind coaching up players . As coach Gains said to me one time " I develop Men not just Ball players the wins will come if your doing your job right " I personally don't think that they would have sold out to the portal by turning there backs on the High School feeder base for a quick fix . They coached up players .
