As I've been saying over the past several years now: Guys don't want to COMPETE anymore...they just want things given to them.
And I'm not talking about just at Ayantee, but nationwide. It's their mindset now. Is it really a mindset or is it availability to do so. I don't put any of this as a generation now mindset. I would fault the NCAA for granting access to all of the athletes to go wherever they want with no penalty. You can't compare this generation to any other because they never had this opportunity. I'm of "The Other Generation" and transfers were available back in the ancient days, too. You could transfer, and there was a one-year penalty for most cases. But guys/gals came in with the knowledge that they would still be competing for playing time.
They don't want to hear that.
All that I'm saying is that nowadays players hear that Player X is transferring to their school or a certain high schooler has signed to come, and they immediately bolt for somewhere else.

The transfer portal has almost made a mockery of the college part of college basketball. It's a shame really that many schools will reluctantly operate their programs like a JUCO with 10 new players every year.

It's not just the players facilitating these moves. Coaches are probably giving these kids opportunities to leave, freeing up a scholarship for a higher caliber player.

Adding to the madness by erasing their recruiting mistakes. Developing a player may almost be a thing of the past in some programs by choice.

Nah it will calm down you got perfect storm this year: New 1 time transfer rule All players including seniors getting another year due to Covid
But I will say the transfer portal will be a even more significant role in recruiting and upgrading your talent pool than in years past due to 1 time transfer rule

cleveland really is a great talent, but he was more concerned about scoring than he was about the team winning. he seemingly looked to pad his stats which is why he forced so many shots.
but make no mistake about it, this dude has "big time" potential. but his head is in the wrong place...

Unfortunately young man you have game tape. No use for someone 6'8" who doesn't rebound, defend, post up, handle the ball well, or have a mid-range game.

He would be fine at D2 … he should be pushing his credentials out to CIAA schools and other area D2 schools

Glad to see these guys landing somewhere it is interesting that most are landing JUCO , D2 … The only one that transferred to a D1 was Lyons; he may have some personal problems and basketball short comings but he did have a pretty good body of work and some talent.
We just have a serious upgrade in talent that left no room in the inn which we needed to compete in the Big South
Ohh how about Kwe Parker or Maye ?
