Hello everyone...why are we still discussing Thomas or the MEAC as if they are a part of our future? When the MEAC shut down the football season, that ended our involvement for me. I realize no decision has been made about MEAC spring sports but I'm betting it's going to be canceled too.

I can see why Monmouth would cancel every conference game is a significant road trip for them.

I love football just as much as anyone especially Aggie football. I hope when the powers to be meet on Tuesday they stick with the decision of the MEAC to cancel all fall sports.
We still have fans on this site placing wealth over sickness and death. Just because A&T has a small window to have an opportunity to play as an independent or whatever, I don't think they should.
Look at Major League baseball, they have only played 4 days and the Covic-19 disease has almost devastated one team and possibly may cancel the season.
MLB has more money, better facilities, health staff and etc. and they can't even control the virus.
So, teams of our caliber are in the danger zone. We don't have the testing, money, equipment, personnel and more to properly safeguard our student athletes.
The HBCU conferences did the right thing in cancelling fall sports. We care about our own. No need to start playing and have to terminate the season after 1 or 2 games.

Covid 19 did not almost devastate one team. A bunch of guys on the Marlins tested positive and are now being quarantined. All of those guys will likely be cleared in 2 weeks with no lingering health issues.
My Astros are playing right now and are currently up 8-5 in the bottom of the 7th inning. On the same day that all those Florida Marlin players tested positive.
The MLB schedule and life in general is still going on.

In any event, no matter which side you may be leaning toward or entrenched in, we'll find out one way or another some time tomorrow afternoon.

people, there are "30" major league baseball teams. only "1" major league baseball team (marlins) has had a major outbreak apparently because of the irresponsibility of a few knuckleheads. other than the marlins, no other team has had a major outbreak and only 3 other teams have "any" covid cases "at all" but none of them have more than 1 case except pittsburgh who has only 2 players test covid positive.
so let's not exaggerate the status of an entire league because only "1" of it's teams (florida marlins) has multiple players test positive on a team which happens to be located in the "new" covid-19 epicenter hot spot of the country which is now florida instead of new york.
only 4 out of "30" mlb teams have at least 1 player to test positive. dc has only "1", pittsburgh has only "1", cincinnati has only "2" but no other team except the marlins have "any" players to test positive so far. hardly a major league baseball league wide covid-19 "outbreak"...

Thank you Dr.OSA.
A&T big wigs have spoken about football this fall. That should tell you something.
I hope MLB make it through the shortened season. However, it still ain't no guarantee.

Dennis Thomas will be highly upset with us and maybe try to sue A&T I told you all Dennis along with the other members would be in court right now if we said yes to the BS. Our hands are tied contractually with the MEAC until July 1 2021. BS commissioner "We had brief conversations with A&T about doing the same thing, but with the MEAC still looking at the possibility of a spring season…they’re not able to,” Kallander said." It sounded like A&T wanted to play this fall but there hands was tied. Sad part about it I bet we want we even have any Spring games the way things are going. I really do not have a issue with us not playing because of the pandemic I just like the way the BS is operating where they leave it up to the individual schools to make the decision. Link below A&T football to sit out as MEAC ponders spring ballThis is off the subject but when you see this link and look at our LB wilder. I am surprise he did at least get a chance as free agent to try out in the NFL. He is a beast.

>Current MEAC member and future Big South member North Carolina A&T had conversations about competing this fall in the league.
>NCA&T, as well as Robert Morris, discussed filling in games for Big South schools sitting out– Hampton and Monmouth. But A&T will not be a part of the equation until next fall.
>Big South Commissioner Kyle Kallander revealed that the conference had discussions about A&T helping fill out its 2020 football schedule. While Robert Morris moved forward, A&T will not.
>“We had brief conversations with A&T about doing the same thing, but with the MEAC still looking at the possibility of a spring season…they’re not able to,” Kallander said.
