Taking responsibility. "We are a championship team we don't need to behave like that."

That’s what I wanted to hear...it’s what I needed to hear.
He accepts responsibility and this won’t happen again.
Despite all the crap we still had a chance to win and this is a lesson learned.
He still expects to win it all...and so do I.

Taking responsibility. "We are a championship team we don't need to behave like that." I commend him for taken responsibility I just hope he does something about it. At the end of the day W. is a good coach you may not like everything he does but I still support him.

With all due respect this is beginning to sound like a broken record.

I like Coach Washington... I like his approach to the game and I like his candidness. And just a reminder, this is only his second year as a head coach and he's still learning things he needs to do to prepare his team for every game.
I think he's doing a fantastic job getting his players ready to play inside the lines but he also is learning that he has to do a better job with them outside the lines. Unfortunately he is discovering some of those "learning opportunities" realtime during critical games. But I genuinely believe that he is working to fix those issues when they come up.
As I said earlier, I like Coach Washington!

With all due respect this is beginning to sound like a broken record. At the same time, I think we all agree that we hope to see a marked change going forward. This will show where I leadership lies within the ranks.

This will show where I leadership lies within the ranks. Well I agree. He said this will not happen again ever at half time. Listen there was things I did not like about Broadway but at the end of the day he won games and championships just like Washington. So I am good with that. If we win out I am good. On a side note he talked about getting those things fix IE passing interior defense was horrible etc.. I am like playing Howard is not a good indicator weather you have gotten anything fix.

I love how everyone is optimistic about him SAYING it won't happen again. But what really has he done from last year's FAMU game, that if most folks remember was the start of the undiscipline like behavior.
My thing is this: 1. He knew FAMU was going to pull all cards from the way we acted LAST YEAR, and he said things would change. As a result, we had all conference players sitting in the locker room in the 2nd half.
2. He has yet to personally hold individuals on the team accountable with any internal suspensions, to set the tone. You dont have to wait for the conference to make that decision.
3. I like coach's honesty, but it concerns me that his Achilles heel is being too much of a player's coach. I want to believe him but I'm starting to see that this problem won't go away.

The apology was all good, but then he kinda took it back with the "a lesser team", "a passing team" comments. To me that's sour grapes talk. You just loss, you are the lesser team. Coaches need to be above the fray, especially when addressing the public. All that was needed to be said was, "We were met with some difficult circumstances on the field and off, we didn't adjust as well as I would have liked. This was a learning experience for us all. If a similar situation arises again we will be better prepared." 101 coach speak.

Look at the Donald Ware interview ( on Facebook). Coach said that they were walking to the locker room and a FAMU player said wait, let them pass through, their Asst Coach said something to the contrary cursing at about us, and Coach heard it, (and a Reff) and realized that it was a Coach (supposed example of leadership), and He turned around and checked him...the players stopped too...then the nose to nose stuff happened. That Coach got tossed. Our Coach did not. (Hear it for yourself).
Now when I heard that story, I said Coach is my Man. Aggie Pride is Real, and yes, it bit us, but those Dawgs will run through a wall for this Man/School, who supports them in battle like this.
That Man deserves a standing O” if he makes it to the tailgate on Saturday.

Late word from the MEAC office just now from WGHP-Fox 8. Only one player is suspended for Howard game - Stephen Davis. Elijah Bell and Mac McCain were cleared after review of the tape of the fight and both will start on Saturday.

First of all Coach Washington has nothing to apologize for. Basically we were in a snake pit to begin. This was a game that we were going to lose even though for a moment we had an opportunity to win. I saw some of FAMU band members taunting some of the players with some the players reacting. Then on the walk to the dressing rooms while the altercations occurred rather than begin the half time performance the band members observed for awhile before their half time shoe. This was mess which started last year here when that play should have been blown dead once Cartwright forward progress was halted along the sideline. Coach Washington spoke a truth to power as he spoke earlier in the year after the Duke game.
