Of course the Big South is still looking to add teams, however I no longer see the appeal or benefit for us to look that way. I still see the possibility of an MEAC / Big South merger in years ahead. That scenario would be dependent upon the fates of FAMU and BCU.

Kennesaw State would be great for the conference from a media and recruitment perspective. Charleston Southern would be good for reducing travel costs.

With an enrollment over 35k KSU is probably headed to the SunBelt Conference within the next 5 years. The BSC has proven to be a stepping stone conference so it would be hard to make decisions based on their current make up. I think we let things shake out in both conferences over the next few years and see who's left standing.

And I think UNA has its eyes on the OVC. Hampton folks are not happy. MEAC is currently ranked higher as a conference than BS. Monmouth competes in four conferences including the MEAC. I think the MEAC is the upswing lead by us. If SCSU can weather it’s storm, hopefully FAMU and BCU can too. I never saw any advantage in joining that conference. I think UMES and Coppin are good fits for the CIAA. The conference landscape will be interesting in the next 5 years. Isn’t Thomas approaching retirement age?
