First come, first serve. If you have two RB spots that your are trying to fill and you make 3 offers, the first two kids who commit get the scholarships and the last one is put on standby until something frees up later. He might become a preferred walk on or something. Unless you are a 4 star blue chip recruit, most kids know that there is a deadline involved and a game of musical chairs. Base on what you are saying how about if that third kidd is a 5 star and he waits to the very last min to make a decision. The first two are 3 stars but they have already committed early on. Re-read what you just quoted. "Unless you are a 4 star blue chip recruit .... "

Base on what you are saying how about if that third kidd is a 5 star and he waits to the very last min to make a decision. The first two are 3 stars but they have already committed early on. Re-read what you just quoted. "Unless you are a 4 star blue chip recruit .... " On the recruiting board you have your priority slots 4-5 star must have players by position. These are players that if you feel strongly about them signing you will hold a slot or two open . Now if you have more then one 4-5 star recruit on your board it becomes a first come situation for those positions . Coaches always make sure that they have there priority players in the nest first and then the process starts all over again . Now if you can not get the 4-5 Players you drop down to the 3-2 from there it's preferred Walk-Ons to regular walk ons . As the board clears you will see the make up of your recruiting class . Once all your slots are filled most programs will/should notify the recruits they have offered to let the Players know that all your scholarships have been taken . In some cases they will offer the player/players the opportunity to be a preferred walk-on which only means that there is a possibility that if the player performs well he could earn a scholarship next recruiting period .
