West kicker excited about A&T offer By Mike Duprez Posted at 4:50 PMAndrew Brown excelled as the kicker for West Davidson’s football team throughout his four-year career but had flown largely under the radar with college coaches. Until now. The 5-foot-10, 165-pound senior can play football if he wishes due to North Carolina A&T’s scholarship offer, which Brown announced on Twitter earlier in the week. “It’s an honor to receive an offer from North Carolina A&T,” Brown said. “I feel welcome there.” North Carolina A&T is a Football Championship Subdivision program in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. The opportunity to kick at an FCS program appealed to him as well. “It’s a dream of mine just to get to compete at the college level,” Brown said. “Competing in the FCS level is amazing.” Equally excited was Brown’s father, Chris Brown, who is the girls soccer coach at West and formerly coached his son on the Dragon boys soccer team. “He really liked A&T,” Chris Brown said. “The coaches and players were really nice guys. Andrew attended four games this year. I think he has a chance to kick as a true freshman.” Brown, who also plays basketball, finished his football career at West with a flourish. He had 42 touchbacks on kickoffs, was 32-of-35 on extra points and 8-of-11 on field goals. with a long of 45 yards. The misses were from 52, 54 and 57 yards. It was a strong finish to what had already been a solid career. For the rest of the story:www.the-dispatch.com/sports/20200128/west-kicker-excited-about-at-offer

Also excessively tall lineman over 6'6" are really not that effective run blockers . saab, i was thinking the exact same thing... Well why do the Big schools continue to recruit these guys if there are non effective in the run block. LSU has three 6-7 OL and one 6-6 OL. Badara Traore 6-7 320 pounds Dare Rosenthal 6-7 314 pounds All american Austin Deculus 6-7 322 pounds Cameron Wire 6-6 300 pounds They did not have a issue running the ball all year long. There run block was rated top 5 in the nation.

You know A&T has made lots of offers to an abundance of kids. Lets say we made offers to 40 kids including tranfers. You assume not everyone is going to accept your offer.
What I do not understand how bout this year 95% of the offers accepts. How do you stay within the 63 scholarship max? Do you have to be force decline your offer to some of the kids? Or some may have to come as walk on or partial scholarship? How does that work?

Power 5 schools make up to 200 offers each year. Many that may accept, they tell "it would would be in their interest to go elsewhere" as signing day gets closer. It's a game. Many times our fortunes depend on how FBS offers turn out.

First come, first serve.
If you have two RB spots that your are trying to fill and you make 3 offers, the first two kids who commit get the scholarships and the last one is put on standby until something frees up later. He might become a preferred walk on or something.
Unless you are a 4 star blue chip recruit, most kids know that there is a deadline involved and a game of musical chairs.

We often give partials and move the high academic achievers to academic scholarships. We’ve been recruiting that way since Broadway led us out of APR violations.

Are they told before they sign if A&T is going to offer partial or full? The reason I ask is if NCCU offer a full and we only offer a partial they may decide not to sign correct?

Base on what you are saying how about if that third kidd is a 5 star and he waits to the very last min to make a decision. The first two are 3 stars but they have already committed early on.
