Now that we officially own the land, I wonder if we remove the tennis courts, would we have enough space for a permenent softball facility Great questions

I had the same reaction, AGGIE2039.
But parking lots bring in long-term revenue with fairly-little maintenance expenditures needed. That needs to at least be given some serious consideration.
I'm not sure how much parking traffic is needed there at this juncture, but it would need to be studied.
If that facility and land belongs to Aggie Athletics, we could use that direct revenue.

A lot of complaints from the current students about parking. It was hard to find spots back when I was there and we only had 8,000 students. While not glamorous, parking decks are requirements for the infrastructure of the university.

The are a number of possibilities: 1. Leave it as tennis courts for students 2. If a softball complex will fit that would a natural baseball/softball center. 3. Could it be for an indoor practice facility (baseball/softball). 4. Although a parking lot would be immediately useful for the short term, a parking GARAGE is the right move of parking is the best use for the land. Even the existing spaces will be gobbled up if they are not already.

I was over there the other day. The baseball and softball teams (pitching and batting practice) and are definitely using it on bad weather days and for individual workouts.

The only reason suggested the indoor complex because the Dome seems too small for anything other than individual workouts. Does anyone know how many batting cages and pitching mounds are in the Aggie Dome? The team goes to another local indoor facility (I think Kernersville) for indoor team workouts. I don't think this pic is inside the Dome. I could be wrong.

Why would we move the softball complex? It is less than 20 years old.
