AGGIES OVERVIEW: North Carolina A&T is in the middle of a three-game homestand. Being at home is becoming a great place for the Aggies. N.C. A&T is 5-0 at home this season and have won six straight at home overall. The Aggies are seeking to defeat Coppin State for the first time in five tries. The last time the Aggies defeated Coppin State was on Jan. 28, 2013 on a buzzer-beater. The Aggies are coming off a big win over one of the best teams in the conference in Morgan State. The Aggies got 39 points from their bench including a season-high 19 points from senior Davaris McGowens. N.C. A&T is now looking for their first 3-0 start in the conference since the 1996-97 season when the Aggies earned wins over Morgan State, Howard and Coppin State. N.C. A&T started conference play 4-0 that season. They will close their homestand with a makeup game against Norfolk State on Wednesday. N.C. A&T is looking to be two games above .500 in the month of January for the first time since the 1996-97 season.
Stepping Up: In the last four games, Davaris McGowens is averaging 14.8 points. On the season, he is averaging 6.8 points. The only player who is averaging more points over the last four games than McGowens is Femi Olujobi who is averaging 15.5 points.
