Back to the original question. We lose 15 starters......, where do we go from here?

We will need to sprinkle in 4 or 5 transfers plus have a good class of high school recruits . I really don’t think coach Washington will have to many problems addressing our needs .
I am more concerned about other programs poaching our coaches

Don’t have the answer. But I am still amazed that 4 last second points separates this team from another undefeated season.

Back to the original question. We lose 15 starters......, where do we go from here? Continue to sprinkle in transfers and hope The S&C coach keeps improving our team’s strengths physically. We also gotta keep the summer conditioning program going.

Back to the original question. We lose 15 starters......, where do we go from here? First... gotta celebrate this season class. Amazing. Lamar Raynard finishes with 6,975 passing yards, 19 shy of Allan Hooker's career mark. Missing Elijah Ball for the 1st quarter TD and the Zach Leslie red zone drop in the 2nd would have likely gotten the yardage record. But Raynard owns the rest. And at 35-2... Lamar is the greatest QB in A&T history in my opinion. Cartwright... back-to-back 1,000 rushing seasons. Hall of Famer. Malik Wilson in the return game. Julian McKnight, Justin Cates and Sam Blue on the DL. The LBs. Abram and Darden in the secondary. The OL continuity. All that typed... We continue to keep developing. I believe the signing of Ifedi ushers in a new era of RPO-style QB following Raynard that the college game has been moving towards. Ifedi has a chance to be as good of a passer as Raynard (no guarantee), but he'll definitely be more of a run threat. That helps Jah-Maine Martin & the next RB we sign to be free to run. Ifedi forces Fowler to really step his game up this spring. That's a good thing for our program. Defensively... I love Kyin Howard's potential at LB and Artavious Richardson at DE. But we have to upgrade our DT rotation. I believe that's coming. OL... I am excited to see OGs Lawrence LeGrone and Tim Williams come off of redshirt in spring ball along with transfer DeJour Simpson. Those guys are between 300-330 lbs with athleticism. As much as I love Micah Shaw & MacQuel Hardy... at 250 and 290 lbs, they wore down in the 2nd half against Alcorn's DT beef. This is a progression area. Coach Mattes has ingredients to work with. The future is bright. There's just more uncertainty in our program than we've had in a while, despite the talent. That's a good problem to have.

I like my chances with: Johnson Wilder McNeil McCain (eventually) Kittles Returning on defense
Along with: Bell Leslie Martin And both offensive tackles returning on offense
Time for these kids that we've recruited to step up and make a name for themselves.

Keeping it real... the likelikhood of returning to ATL for the 2019 Celebration Bowl is less than this year. That's football. The odds are much better for a CB bid in 2020.
If we go into the season with that understanding, we'll be better able to handle the ebbs and flows of the 2019 season.

What MEAC team do you see making leaps and bounds next year or could dominate the MEAC? SC State will be a issue maybe FAMU
I think we will get a couple game changing transfers plus I suspect Williams and LaGrange may have started this year had we not redshirted them but that’s the mark of great programs to redshirt make kid bigger stronger and they still have 4 full years

We’ve been spoiled..... I wouldn’t count us out yet for next year.... As this year proved, anybody can talk about winning, but when the chips are on the line, some folks can’t..... This program has the track record of winning when others usually don’t...,

But we have to upgrade our DT rotation. That was my biggest takeaway from Saturday. We've gotta find a handful of legitimate 1 and 3 techniques who can take on double teams. Besides McKnight, we had a bunch of natural D-ends masquerading at D-tackle this season. Cates and Blue are true D-ends. That will not work if we plan to continue to move our program forward.

We need to find us a Shippey, that kid dominated and was telling our OL he was dominating as he was doing it (after watching DVR of game).
