AGGIES OVERVIEW: North Carolina A&T is off to a hot start. It’s so hot, it is the best start since the 1987-88 season when the Aggies started 5-0. The Aggies finished that season 26-3 with a school-record 26 wins. The Aggies have scored 349 points over their first four games. It is the most points they have scored in the first four games of a season since scoring 350 points at the start of the 1980-81 season. The Aggies have thoroughly put the memory of the 2016-17 season behind them. A year ago, the Aggies defeated one Division I team. This season they already have two Division I wins with victories over The Citadel and Jacksonville. In the process, the Aggies ended their 26-game losing streak to non-conference opponents with their win at Jacksonville last Saturday. The last time the Aggies won a non-conference road game before Saturday was Dec. 28, 2013 at Georgia Southern. N.C. A&T’s good start has been aided by great shooting and sharing. They are first in the MEAC in field goal percentage (.494) and assists per game (18.0). www.ncataggies.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=24500&ATCLID=211686597

24 so far. He has been on the bench resting due to the lack of competition.

We have a good team....but after 10 minutes, this game became unwatchable. I’m focused on the game at ECU this weekend. If the Pirates don’t come to play, we are gonna leave Greenville with a W...

I hope the coach plays nothing but benchwarmers in the 2nd half.....cannot afford to have any of our main dudes getting injured playing these dudes.

I left at halftime. Will the stats from this game even count? I have never heard of the USCAA.

I was happy to see some of the bench play...Pratt looked alot stronger and quicker. I understand the level of competition but it seems Pratt wants some minutes in the rotation after being suspended. The same could be said for Watson he seems a whole lot more aggressive than last year.

It's kinda crazy.
We're averaging almost 93 ppg thru 5 games. Yet... I was a little disappointed that we allowed 76 tonight and a little under 80 ppg.
It's weird... but a good problem to have.
McGowens was a little rusty. Pratt did some decent things off the dribble.
But the biggest thing was seeing Edmead back in form. 13 pts, 4 assists, 2 steals and 0 TOs. Another assisting guard who can handle, shoot FTs and play defense. Japhet Kadji also found his shooting tempo & stroke by going 4 of 4 (3 of 3 from 3-pt) and 4-4 FT for 15 pts. Watson had his 3-ptrs rim out, but found his driving ability again and hit a pull-up jumper off a screen for 10 pts off 5 of 9 shooting.
It was an easy opponent, but it was at a good point to get some re-calibration prior to facing a struggling ECU program that has lost to Radford & Central Connecticut St at home and just barely beat Cleveland St. CCSU just barely beat Coppin St. at home 74-71 in OT after being tied 62-62 in regulation... and we at CCSU on Nov. 30th to close out the month.
Wins against ECU & CCSU would put us at 6-1 for the month of November. That would a heckuva start.

Aggies Blow By Mustangs to Improve to 4-1 Courtesy: NC A&T Sports Information Release: 11/22/2017GREENSBORO (November 21, 2017) – North Carolina A&T played 15 players with 13 of those players scoring in a 115-76 rout of United States Collegiate Athletic Association Division II foe Mid-Atlantic Christian University Tuesday night in men’s basketball action at Corbett Sports Center. The Aggies (4-1) went over the 100-point plateau for the second time in five games this season. The last time the Aggies scored 100 or more points twice in a season came during the 1990-91 season when the Aggies exceeded 100 points against Delaware State and Bethune-Cookman. The school record for 100-point games in a season is shared by the 1969-70 and the 1970-71 teams who each posted eight 100-point games in their respective season. N.C. A&T has scored 90 or more points in every game this season except one which was against ACC opponent Clemson on the road. For the fourth time in five games, the Aggies had more assists than turnovers as they finished with 26 assists and 10 turnovers. Junior Femi Olujobi, the nation’s leading scorer into Tuesday night’s game, finished with 27 points and 11 rebounds for his third double-double of the season. Junior Japhet Kadji had his best game in an Aggies uniform as he finished with 15 points and eight rebounds on 4-for-4 shooting from the field and 4-for-4 shooting from the free throw line. Sophomore Aaren Edmead, playing in his first game as an Aggie after transferring in from Wagner, also scored in double figures with 13 points on 7-for-9 shooting from the line. Donte Watson came off the bench to score 10. “Going into the game we felt like everyone would have an opportunity to play,” said N.C. A&T coach Jay Joyner. “Some guys took advantage of the opportunity and some guys are still trying to figure it out. It was a great overall team win.” “The biggest challenge when you have a game like this is playing down to the level of your competition,” said Joyner. “Clearly, we were the better team. But I don’t think we gave maximum effort defensively for 40 minutes. That’s something we stress every day.” www.ncataggies.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=593463&SPID=74518&DB_LANG=C&ATCLID=211686799&DB_OEM_ID=24500
