just looking at stats, i see where she averaged 13.7 ppg, but her shooting percentage from the floor was only roughly 30% which isn’t very good at all. part of the reason might be because her team did so poorly (4-26) and she was one of their top 2 players which means she may have drawn a lot of attention from their opponents.
but given winthrop’s record, i can easily see why she may have wanted to transfer...

Yeah, the defense probably keyed in on her. Hopefully with a better cast her percentage will improve. It is nice to know that women's team is getting these kinda looks though, it suggests that the program has potential to be a mid level marque program. Looking back at how ND lost during the sweet sixteen and how our team played against them, makes me believe we were better than our seed. Coach really had a good game plan.

the two things i liked the most about our game against notre dame is that “we didn’t play scared” and that “we fought our hardest until the very end”. i was so very proud of our ladies, coach rob, and his staff, albeit was a loss...

Amen. I couldn't believe how we played against Notre Same. Most coaches playing a more talented and experienced team would have tried to slow the game down to keep the score "close". On that day, we played like we were back at Corbett... Fast and lose. ND beat us because they were better but we weren't scared! I was so proud of the players and Coach Rob. What he showed me that day was if he continues to get more talented players, we are going to surprise our OOC opponents.

Winthrop also had a 6'3" senior who didn't play at all last year. The eye-popping stat is the 3.6 steals per game. That's a lot of experience and athleticism in the backcourt with Dana Brown, Kala Green and now Ms. Kilpatrick for 2016-17. It allows a bridge so you also don't immediately have to depend on McCray and Bostick if their freshman transition doesn't super-great. But transfers from UNC-Wilmington (Brown), Memphis (Courtney Powell), Alabama (C.C. Foy) and Winthrop (Kilpatrick) into our program in the last 3 years.... that's pretty impressive by Coach Rob and his staff.

13.7 ppg, 97 steals, 73 assists to 54 turnovers, 4.6 rebounds per game........I know Winthrop stunk last year, but putting her on our squad is lethal. As long as she does her part, this is a huge pickup......AND GRADUATE TRANSFERS PLAY IMMEDIATELY.
Winning breeds winning.....
