NaborHood, You are being a bit unfair....You have to give the team more credit than that UNCG is not that bad..... Central Florida 65 UNCG 54 IPFW 64 UNCG 58 UNCG 71 Jacksonville 69 Navy 70 UNCG 66 I was at the game......UNC-G is not a good team. There are 350+ DI teams out there. Not all of them are good. UNC-G would qualify as one of those teams. Don't get me wrong - I would've loathed to have lost to them. We didn't - we've won 2 straight. We still have a lot of room for improvement. I think the Howard game will be a good measuring stick. These dudes always play a 2-3 zone. They've had our number recently. Our zone offense still needs some work. We really need to start the conference ledger off on the right foot.....

Good win....hopefully it will be a part of the foundation w/new line up that will give us the best chance to win. Being straight up.....UNC-G is not a very good team. 2 of their 3 wins this year came against DIII Greensboro College and DII Chowan College. Also, remember we have beaten them the last 4 times we have played them. At any rate...glad to get a W. after going thru what this team has gone thru this season, any "win" is a good win... Phew!!!! No doubt!!!

Aggies Win Fourth Straight Over City Rival
Courtesy: NC A&T Sports Information Release: 12/03/2015 GREENSBORO – Friends got together Wednesday night and played a men’s basketball game both sides agree should be played often if not every year. Sure, senior forward Bruce Beckford will get to a brag a little when he visits his pals on the other end of Market Street this summer after the Aggies defeated UNC Greensboro for the fourth straight time thanks to a 77-68 win at Corbett Sports Center. It was the first meeting between the two teams at Corbett since the Aggies defeated the Spartans 91-75 on Jan. 24, 1990. The other 15 games in the series have been played at the Greensboro Coliseum. The win also marked the Aggies second straight after losing their first seven. “I would love to come back and see UNCG playing in Corbett every other year,” said Beckford who finished with 21 points and six rebounds on 7-for-11 shooting. Three other Aggies scored in double figures as sophomore guard Sam Hunt finished with 20 on 4-for-8 shooting from 3-point range. Graduate guard Joshea Singleton had 16 thanks to his ability to get to the basket, and senior guard Ahmad Abdullah finished with 12 points, six rebounds and five assists. The Aggies shot a season-high 55.3 percent from the floor. For the rest of the story: www.ncataggies.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=24500&ATCLID=210555293

How was the game atmosphere/attendance? Attendance = 1,832 I believe attendance was higher than that last night. UNC-G bussed quite a few students over last night (mostly black). Combined with youth groups and our band... quite a few sections were reasonably full. It was a pretty good environment in-person..

UNCG tried pretty hard to get a large group of students to bus over there (a la what HPU does every year when they play G).Unfortunately, this team isn't good and not going to cause a lot of people to come see them play.

I'm glad we won......I was at the game - UNCG is a bad team. Wes Miller will be lucky to make it through the this year. We still need to play a lot better. Teams in the MEAC are better than UNC-G. We're going to have to play a better quality of basketball to succeed in conference. We're winning. We're not a finished product...but a DI win still gives the team a sense they're moving in the right direction. Think that sums it up well. There is some talent on the team, just really poor coaching. UNCG has been abysmal at finishing games this season. Tied with UCF with about 4 to play and UCF goes on a 14-3 run to finish the game. Down 2 to Navy with 29 secs to play, G takes a brutal 28' 3 pointer with 18 left on the shot clock. Down 3 to IPFW with ~25 secs left, UNCG misses FT's. Just painful ways to lose. Luckily, G found a new way to lose last night. Get whipped from the minute you get off the bus. Pretty unhappy with the program. But take nothing away from A&T. They brought it and thumped UNCG big time. Congrats guys/ and Good luck the rest of the way.

A few thoughts from the game/what’s next:
1. Sam Hunt moving off the ball is easily the reason A&T is improving. He’s a scorer, so why not get him moving and taking good shots? Actually good coaching. 2. I like Joshea Singleton. He gives us a wing with some size that can defend against some bigs. We’ve always tried to defend size with quickness and at this level, it works. His leadership on the floor is AUDIBLE and he is a good help defender. 3. However, when UNCG figured out that they had the size advantage against us, they pounded the ball inside to RJ White (15 points, 10 in the second half). We refused to double, because of Francisco Alonso (7-for-13 from three). Fortunately we put Singleton on help side and forced a few misses late. 4. Steven Burrough made the play of the game when he recovered from help side to block an open layup, which was the play right before the game sealing technical foul. He’s slimmed down and plays effectively for much longer stretches. 5. Ahmad Abdullah seems to get better and better each time out. He’s sometimes gunshy (which explains only 18 threes taken in nine games – he’s hit half). But for the sake of a better shot, it’s fine. He has more pressure on him to get Hunt the ball, so he’ll have to be a better defender and spare some cheap fouls (We have NO backup PG). 6. When Abdullah goes to the bench, Hunt takes the point, moving Singleton over to the two, Doby/EGHAREVBA at the three, the offense DIES. A lot of quick shots or forced drives. Over the course of the season, look for Cy to come up with some pressure to get this group some transition buckets. 7. Howard is coming in HOT, having won five in a row, including their first tournament of any kind in two decades. Their losses are to UMass by six and Rutgers by 12. James Daniel, the MEAC ROY two years ago, leads this fine nation of ours in scoring (28.7 ppg), but he hasn’t quite gotten his 3-point shooting stroke yet. I fear he’s coming to light it up. Winning this game would be a big statement for A&T after our early season disaster. 8. UMES has got some talent and gave Mizzou a scare before foul trouble did them in. They are a dark horse team, and quiet as kept, Bobby Collins has done well against Cy historically. Remember last’s year’s embarrassing loss in Princess Anne? Devin Martin, the architect behind that loss, is back and their All-MEAC forward Dominique Elliott is back.
A 2-0 swing would say a lot about this team into the winter break, where there are three winnable games before January 5th.

Dismal crowd last night, but a good win. Good to see Joshea get it going...If he can be a steady number 3 scorer, we will be a much better team. Now it's Eddie's turn to figure out his role. I like the 3 guard combination..

tyball1 is spot on with point 6. Hunt is not a point by any means. I knew the off was stagnant with Hunt at the point; thats no slam on Sam he just not a PG he is a very good 2.

Hey let's face it...after the past three years a lot of us are a bit skeptical of the men's basketball team. It will take a few more quality wins to get me excited about this team. Looking at the attendance at 1,832, there appears to be a lot of "skeptical" Aggie fans out here. Before I venture into Corbett gym to watch them play I'm going to wait until they beat some teams in January or NSS says they are a good team...whichever comes first.

I hate to say this MB1969….but is this a double standard? You question some members why they don't want to attend the CB but u don't want to support the MBB team? I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion and attendance options ….right? Just saying!
